#8 and #11 in points per game out of 32 teams. Weak?

Time will tell. I'm sure one of us will bring this thread back after the Super Bowl.
suffice it to say that you simply have not made a legitimate case for these NFC teams being superior to the remaining AFC teams as you have claimed. It remains obvious that your suggestion that they are is simply based on your personal disdain for the two AFC teams that have consistently out achieved your team.

So you tell me they have "weak offenses", I show you that they both rank top 11 in points scored, and that's your comeback? LOL. Keep drinking the Kool-aid. Peyton won't find Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl.

even easier, he may find Colin Kaepernick... which is not to say that I dislike the 9ers....I just dont find either of those teams frightening, and I dont understand why everyone thinks that I should. Unless I was a sheep also, and ate everything the media tried to feed me.

The weakest part of any team left in the playoffs is New England's run defense. The 2nd weakest part would be New England's Wide Receivers. New England probably wants no part of Seattle if New England makes it to the Super Bowl. Seattle would be double digit favorites, imo.

The AFC team in general would probably employ a 'make Russell Wilson beat us with his arm' defense and totally sell out against the run and quite frankly the only way Id see Seattle losing is if Wilson chokes. Denver's run D is actually capable of pulling this defense off but New England's isn't.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that New England lacks the defense and skill players to win the Super Bowl unless they go +2 in the turnover battle in each game

No AFC team stands a chance against the 49ers or Seahawks defense, nor has the defense to keep their point total low enough to win.

This year reminds me of the days of the 49ers-Cowboys rivalries, where the real Super Bowl was the NFC Championship.

I don't see any way the Broncos or Pats could beat either one of those teams.

Why am I wrong?

Nah. It's not that lopsided these days. From top to bottom, the early-mid 90s Cowboys and 9ers were incredibly stacked. Green Bay wasn't too far behind them. Any one of those 3 would be too much for these 4 to handle.

With all that said, I do think the 9ers probably have the best overall team right now, but they also have a lot on their plate. If they win the SB this year, it's certainly not going to be via getting lucky and running into far inferior teams.

I keep smirking at Bronco fans trying to compare their team to the NFCW teams. It's truly humorous. Just do your best to keep it close with the Pats. I think you guys are gonna get "jammed up" in the AFCCG and wish for regular season Peyton. :)

well, while i agree it appears that way, both the broncos and patriots have the QB, which can always make it interesting. In addition, I've personally been impressed all season with the broncos run defense and think they could contain either nfc team's running game decently to give themselves a chance. the broncos deficiency is in their secondary.

gonna be a great match up regardless of who gets there

Hawks and Niners have the best D remaining but either of those teams will be facing one of the best QB's

Perhaps you should focus your "smirking" on hoping the 9ers aren't out of contention for the game in Seattle again in the first 15 minutes....you might wish you had a real quarterback

Yep. To act like the niners and hawks are unbeatable is naive. The niners have question marks in their secondary imo and the hawks have some question marks in their passing game imo. They are serious enough question marks that they could come back to bite them in the sb.

and really don't think John Fox is that great of a coach.

He took Jake Delhomme to the Superbowl. That warrants praise as a very good coach, IMO.

Here are is my honest opinion of the final 4 teams....

Hottest team- 49ers
Most Impressive team (playoff wise)- 49ers or Patriots
Best offensive team- Denver
Best defensive team- Seahawks
Most balanced team- 49ers
Best coached team- Patriots or 49ers

Seattle and Denver seem shaky right now. Peyton is known to choke, and really don't think John Fox is that great of a coach. I think Denver is good because Manning and the weapons they have. Seattle hasn't been winning @ home convincingly lately either.

I think 49ers and Patriots win this week, that's just my gut feeling.

Seattle's offensive struggles at home lately seem to be the one point that most are making as to why Seattle is beatable. Fair enough, they have struggled. However, it is worth pointing out that in the last month the teams the Seattle offense "struggled" against were the #4, #5, and #6 ranked defenses in the NFL. San Fran, Arizona, and New Orleans all have tremendous defenses and I'd like to know how any other team's offense would look after playing those defenses. The other two teams Seattle played in the past month were St.Louis and NYGiants. Seattle handled both those teams with relative ease.

I remember this cocky attitude last year before you chumps were out-classed and dominated by a "weak afc team" in the SB.

While I believe that the 4 remaining teams are the 4 best teams in the NFL and have been all season, all of them have their flaws. All 4 are good enough to win the Super Bowl, and all 4 are weak enough to lose their next game. Should be fun to watch.

No team is unbeatable. At the end of the day I truly believe these are the 4 BEST teams in the league. So it should lead to great games the rest of the way.

Im obviously bias as a hawks fan. But ill tell you this, I dont care about the afc game yet, Im nervous as hell about the niners game. These teams hate each other and are essentially carbon copies of each other.

One thing I will point out, for those that talk about Seattles offense being a weak point. The weather (40 plus mph winds) and a conservative game plan lead to what we saw. Seattle knew the D with the weather would be more then the saints could handle. The one thing that they couldn't do was turn it over....and they didn't....

Same could be said of the Broncos offense not putting up as many points yesterday as they have all season in they were playing in 40 mph winds so it eliminated the deep ball that the Broncos like to do. Also turned them into a more power running team.

I don't fault the Seahawks offense for that past game as they played exactly how they should have for the weather. I do think they have some issues though on the offensive side of the ball as they did struggle down the stretch averaging close to 20 points a game on offense. Some of that is the level of competition as they were playing some of the top defenses during that stretch but some of it was Wilson really struggled at times and the OL still has some issues. Still like them to win this weekend but it will be a slug fest no matter what the weather is.

Outside of Dalton, Wilson's total QBR is the worse this postseason. He misses finding the open receiver a lot (doesn't even see them!)...he has fallen off as the season has gone on...he is the reason they will lose. He's the worse QB left in the playoffs.

Your right, as is the next post about wilsons QBR. I think part of the problem is the ultra conservative play calling doesn't allow him to get into a rhythm, run first, run second, then 3rd and 8.... The announcers mentioned the same thing early yesterday about rivers.

I think we see a similar game plan vs SF....

No...he doesn't find the open receiver and just starts scrambling...look at the play in the 4th qtr yesterday (one of the few where you got a good tv view of the entire field). He ran for about 8 yards but had a man deep down the middle of the field but decided to scramble and try to run for the first down without any real pressure. He is not a good QB for about the last month+
