I said it on the CBS board quite a bit and agree with the people above that to me it's coaching. Bo hired too many coaches that didn't have a huge amount of experience, especially at an elite school.

I used this comparison over on CBS, wish I could bring over the data, because I don't feel like looking it up again. Urban Meyer put together a coaching staff that consisted of former HCs, DCs, OCs, etc. A ton of guys with 10+ years of experience at some decent programs. I think the only guy that didn't have good coaching experience was Mike Vrabel and he had a distinguished NFL career.

When Bo goes and gets a staff, his two most experienced were Cotton (not a great o-line coach to begin with) and Brown (a decent coach that had been out of the game for a while). He gave people like Papuchis his first full time position, Carl his first DC job, etc. He went for "his guys" instead of guys with a lot of coaching experience. I just think that has hurt him a lot. Especially in the blowouts like last year. No one was ready to step up and say, let's try something different, none of them had enough experience to know what to do differently.

Yeah. Coaching changes and talent are not a good excuse for getting owned like Idaho St against tOSU and Wisky in the CCG.

It's not even a doubt that Nebraska has better players than Idaho St.

Where the problem is, is when they play like them. It lies somewhere between lack of prep, lack of fundamentals, lack of conditioning, lack of discipline, and lack of game-time adjustments.

Take your pick, but it's not players it's coaching.

I just don't understand why we don't show up in big games

One thing about slick Pete at USC they always showed up in primetime yeah they had some upset against the lame duck teams but when the lights were bright USC came to fight

With bo idk which team is gonna show up week to week
