Watching some of the highlights of the game and you catch more than you do when watching live.

Hunter and Gore were great of course. But man Hunter needs the ball some more, he hits the outside so fast and is good on the pitch plays. Another great play is when he caught the big catch, he saw smith scramble and improvised and ran to an open area for the easy catch. I thought he was gone after that lol, but overall great speed and recognition to bail smith out.

Bowman was a monster as was the whole LB and DL line. Goldson and smith had some awesome hits and played agressive.

You saw the Hunter play EXACTLY what it was. In about a split-secong, Hunter took in the situation, found the soft spot and threw his hand up to give Smith a target. What Hunter did on the front end of that play was FAR more impressive than what he did on the back end.

Great play recognition, '83!

That's called playing with instinct... He did not have to think about what he needs to do, all he did was recognize the situation and in an instant diagnose it...

LOL!!!!...Four, you could not be more right if you spent a month of Sunday's trying! As an athlete, like yourself, when you see that in another athlete you know exactly what it is you are seeing and it gets pretty damn exciting. This kid Hunter is a gamer.

Well said! Im really hoping Hunter can be our back for the future. It would be nice to be able to have found a back like him so soon instead of endlessly searching for a back while frank is getting older. Hopefully he can keep it up and become an every down back in this league. Either way we need to always be looking for more, especially if Dixon doesnt pan out. Having only one RB do everything (like frank has been) is getting harder and harder in this league.

Yes, it happened on the miss and Harbaugh was going nuts. It was borderline because he landed on the other guy's back, but came down real quick. He didn't push off at all like the Dallas game version. You shouldn't be flagged just because you land on someone. Had he lingered there a split second longer and threw his hands up, then it's probably flagged.

I also wanted to say the kick looked super low on the blocked kick. That one's probably coming back even without the terrible blocking. If the tie breaking point after was missed, Akers would have been accused of having a deal with his old team.

Morgan was wide open on the TD. It was pretty much a blown coverage for how bad Asaunte Samuel played that one. That may have been the easiest pass Alex Smith had all year. But it was good recognition to anticipate where the weakness was in the safety blitz and hit it. There's a really cool snapshot of this play and some of the other key plays in an article posted somewhere on here this morning.

We haven't had that type of play in a long time. Gore and Davis' effort to get the ball across the line on those plays were incredible. They are both awesome near the goal line in getting the ball over.

I pretty much felt the game was done when the fumble happened right before half and they punched it in. The game was a lot closer than the score at that time, but I didn't think we had enough firepower to light up their pass defense. This is a huge reference win for the offense after struggling so hard with that team for so many years.

I would not classify that as easy... He had a ton of pressure comig at him... The easiest so far, IMO, was the middle screen to Hunter in the first quarter that went for a big gain...

You are spot-on, Four!

Quick slants are not at all an easy pass to make, because of the speed of the route the timing has to be nearly perfect. Lead the receiver too far and you risk getting him injured, throw the ball behind and at best, you lose an opportunity for a big gain; while at worst, you risk the ball being popped into the air for an INT.

The coverage on that play was a shallow cover-one, which indicates blitz underneath. I would like to believe Smith saw that and checked out of plan A and into plan B. As for the coverage being bad, the coverage wasn't bad at all, Smith & Morgan just made it look bad. Morgan's route was immaculate (one Crabtree needs to study) and Smith's throw was on-target.

Now we did catch two breaks on the play when we peeled both TE's which held the linebacker, and the FS was cheating toward Crabtree. Morgan and Smith simply did the rest.

Well, lets hope for a second helping of last Sunday - this Sunday, with perhaps the exception of instead of coming back lets just build an insurmountable lead.

Finally had a chance to watch the game and overall I'm pleased with the team showing some grit and grinding out a win against a more talented opponent. Even the best of teams need to grind out a win and turn what should've been a loss into a victory and it's something I haven't seen from the team in years.

Offense I think is starting to gel and come together. The offensive line played better, it seems like Smith and Crabtree are starting to connect a little better, Hunter is starting to find a good niche, and Davis is continuing to get involved. Also Roman seems to have a better feel of the offense and trust in the offense and the play calling is starting to reflect that. It's hard to declare the running game as back considering this is Philly but it was nice to see some push finally from the offensive line and hopefully they'll carry it game to game.

Defensively we gave up a lot of yards but didn't break when it down to the redzone. The pass rush was good and probably would've had more sacks if we were going against any other QB than Vick. Obviously the secondary lacks speed and it really showed in this game and I'm hoping Culliver can eventually pan out as he's supposed to be pretty fast himself but it's something that Baalke seriously needs to address next offseason.

The great thing in all of this is both the offense and defense should look much better towards the end of the season so getting wins now when we're at our weakest is huge. I pegged the team as 8-8 and maybe 9-7 but I thinking this is shaping up to be a 10-6 team with a small chance of going 11-5.

ok yeah i admit it...shame i don't find other avenues, pay for satelite, whatevers? someone once posted a website which streamed the game, but it longer works?

as it turns out, this past Sunday had to take care of 'obligations' anyway. sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

the BWW here is in Waikiki, so you can imagine its very crowded. it shows as much games as it can so if you're sitting in the wrong spot, may not see the 49ers TV well. its a poor excuse, but now adding it. :-)

All-PFF Team - Week 4 | ProFootballFocus.com

Fullback: Bruce Miller, San Francisco 49ers (+2.9)
.
A first appearance for the 49ers***8217; rookie. They could be onto something given his lead blocking against an Eagles team that fullbacks tend to play well against. Maybe it***8217;s something to do with their linebackers ***8230;

---------------------------

http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/10/06/all-had-a-bad-day-team-week-4/

Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia
Eagles (-2.2)
.
***8216;MSW***8217; did manage to catch one ball for 6 yards. Outside of that, not much went right. Two drops, two more incompletions and a penalty for good measure. Is he the anti-contract year type of player who can***8217;t produce when a big pay day is on the line? Maclin walked away seven receptions, but dropped a ball and fumbled another that proved crucial.

Guards: Chris Kemoeatu, Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.9) and Kyle DeVan, Philadelphia Eagles (-4.7)
.
Everyone looks at the tackles as the problem in Pittsburgh, but Kemoeatu has been a long way from average for a long time. This wasn***8217;t quite what Kyle Williams did to him last year, but Antonio Smith had a lot of fun playing against him. DeVan is getting benched this week after becoming a canvas for Ray McDonald to express himself on.

Linebackers (4-3): Kavell Conner, Indianapolis Colts (-4.5), Jamar Chaney, Philadelphia Eagles (-2.8) and James Anderson, Carolina Panthers (-3.5)
.
Conner gave up too many first downs in being the main man in coverage on 13 Buccaneer completions. Carolina outside linebacker James Anderson has had better days with his run defense than he managed against the Bucs, where he really struggled to make an impact. As for Chaney? Well is anyone surprised that an Eagles linebacker makes this team?

Cornerbacks: Nnamdi Asomugha, Philadelphia Eagles (-5.0) and Terrence Johnson, Indianapolis Colts (-3.2)
.
Anyone surprised to see Asomugha on this list? He gave up yards, missed tackles and looked incredibly uncomfortable against the 49ers. Johnson was benched for a period after showing everyone why the Colts maybe weren***8217;t so wise to release the underrated Justin Tryon. That summed up his day.

2) First Rounder Gets Pressure

Up until this game Aldon Smith (+3.5) had averaged 36% of snaps as a hybrid pass-rushing OLB/BE. He***8217;d done his bit, been broadly average and picked up a couple of both hits and hurries. While this game wasn***8217;t exactly an explosion onto the NFL scene, it was by some way his best performance to date and will give 49er fans a lot of hope he***8217;ll deliver production to go with his undoubted athletic ability.

Here, he got more playing time (up to 54% of snaps) and rewarded his coaches with two sacks, a hit and four hurries; one of each coming at the expense of Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters. In fact perhaps his only mis-step was a missed tackle on LeSean McCoy half way through the final quarter.

PFF September Awards | ProFootballFocus.com

NFC Defensive Player of the Month: Justin Smith, DE, San Francisco 49ers
.
With Trent Cole having won the big one, Justin Smith steps up to No. 1 here. His first two games would have been good enough to likely win him the NFL Defensive Player of the Month, but struggles againstCincinnatimeans he***8217;s settling for this recognition. Tremendous player who picked up right where he left off from last year.

Others receiving votes: Stephen Tulloch, Carlos Rogers, B.J. Raji and Ndamukong Suh

Was just watching some game highlights, and noticed on one of the early screens to Hunter that Anthony Davis was like 8 yards downfield. Really luck that didn't get called. Not really sure how the officials missed it.
