I was really not sure about deciding to make Kliff the OC, now I already hoping we won't lose him to a HCing job next year.

Seems like the real test is going to be mid season. That’s the complaint Ive seen regarding him… not adjusting. Hopefully with JD, we see a continual needle upon his development. I was struck initially with all the horizontal passes, even asked you about that, but in hindsight looks like it was a master stroke to help JD feel comfy and gain confidence.

The national narrative is teams figure him out as the season goes on, but I've already heard speculation that he would make sense as the HC in Chicago next year.

Bears did have a chance to hire him this year as an OC but I think we swooped in. Anyone know for sure?

He had a deal in place with Veags as far as I remember and we stole him.

Yes, I think some it was letting him get his feet under him. Jayden seems to be a quick study. Have to give Sty credit. He predicted the Bengals would sell out for the run and Washington would go over the top. That was mostly true once Ekeler went out.

I like the fact that the offense seems better in the 2nd half. Reminds me of Gibbs era ... first version.

Washington gave Kliff a three year deal which is what he wanted, Raiders would not give him three years.

I felt the same. Since it is a 3 year deal, maybe he stays to see this through.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports, “The NFL concluded it’s investigation of former Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus and determined there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that a violation of the personal conduct policy occurred.”
McManus was under investigation for an alleged sexual assault that took place on a plane back in 2023. The veteran kicker was released by the Commanders, who signed him earlier in the offseason after the allegations surfaced, but he’s now free to sign with any team with the league’s investigation now concluded. McManus converted 30-of-37 field goal attempts (81.1 percent) in 2023, his only season with the Jaguars, and has converted 81.4 percent of his attempts for his career. With plenty of kicker-needy teams out there, it wouldn’t be surprising of McManus found a new home in the near future.
