Should be said with tongue in cheek. Every player, coach and the organization are not entering 2023 saying its a lame duck year. This is another year off each individual's playing career which has an extremely short life span.

I have to disagree with you sentiment, "such is life". The organizations use up the players with little to no regard other than a form of payment. For the players, each year holds it value for them and when it is wasted by an organization floundering like ours, players like KC, TW, BS and others will follow taking or choosing a different path (organization) who actually does value each premium year said player can provide and a common goal shared by player and organization, which is a ring. We have had zero chance of winning a ring the past 20+ years. That equals bad organization and GTFO!
