Put in a 38 year old goalie between the pipes who hasn't played in over a year and he almost gets a shutout.

Look, they can fire Michel, but then they gotta find another coach who doesn't offend the fanbase by not knowing a language that maybe two of the team's players understand. What's the greatest GM ever supposed to do?!

Love the name, hope I love the game...Signing was actually a couple of days ago.

Flames sign Andrew Mangiapane to entry-level contract
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed 2015 NHL Draft pick Andrew Mangiapane to an entry-level contract.

Mangiapane, a 19-year-old left wing, is playing in his third season with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. He is about to enter the playoffs with the Colts, who finished second in the Eastern Conference, after a regular season where he finished second in the OHL in goals (51), sixth in points (106), and tops in short-handed goals (8).

Hearing Jankowski is close. I'm sure Jankowski would love to burn year 1 of deal w/games this year. Not sure team would be as keen.

In 6 years he'll be the best player from that draft, so the Flames might want to hold on to him!! :dhd:

The funny thing is if the Flames had taken Olli Maatta with that pick, I don't think they would currently have Dougie Hamilton. And this is not a knock against Maatta who I think is a pretty good defenseman, but I would rather have Hamilton.

True. So many what ifs.

If they didn't trade fro Hamilton they could have had any one of Kyle Connor, Thomas Chabot, Colin White or Matthew Barzal. And still had a couple of 2nds to use on the likes of Daniel Sprong.

So when Kyle Connor becomes the best Connor in the NHL, just blame Jankowski. :trash:

Friedman:

The status of Calgary’s Mark Jankowski is different because the Providence College forward was a first-rounder. If no deal is reached, the Flames get a compensatory pick, which would be 51st overall. (The formula is simple: 30 spots later than where a player was originally selected.) The issue in Jankowski’s case is bonuses. The club and the agent (Wade Arnott) are arm-wrestling over them.

That's a little Over the Top even for Elliotte...

The Ducks' 22-game regular-season home winning streak against the Flames is one short of the longest such streak in NHL history, set by Philadelphia against Pittsburgh from 1980 to 1987.
