I don't think you can ignore or dismiss advanced stats, jstew, but I'm also of the belief that they don't tell the whole story either. I also have to think that BT is looking at advanced stats for Russell and it's likely a factor in why Russell hasn't been signed to an extension as of yet.

A few months ago, Bobby Mac was on 1050 and talking about how teams use advanced statistics and he made a very good point: "teams use the more popular fancy stats, your corsi, fenwick etc. But I assume their on-staff statisticians use formulas and calculations that we don't have even the slightest idea about". Something we should always keep in mind.
