Does make some sense. What I referred to as a "jump" in an earlier post is described by Fraser as a "stutter step". I can buy that.

It certainly hasn't been fun for refs the past week - Kassian escaped any fine or suspension for this shove last Saturday night.

It's impossible to know intent, but if the "dazed/woozy" excuse comes up, well...have the Flames diagnosed a concussion? It's an interesting predicament because he played the whole game. So if they use that excuse, they're also admitting he shouldn't have played in the game. I dunno, I struggle to see how there's not some intent there (even if just frustration) just because his head is up the whole time. Can't see his eyes, but he's skating right at the guy for awhile. Even if deemed unintentional, I think he should sit a few. Dangerous precedent otherwise.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the word 'attack' usually has premeditation and intent associated with it. I find it a peculiar choice of wording.

Based on past player suspensions (altercations with other players - tops is a 30-game suspension), my guess is a minimum of 41 games. Wouldn't be surprised with 1 year suspension.

Maybe Bettman can just have Wideman fight John Scott during the all-star game?

The first thing is that you have to get a thick skin. I’ve heard my fair share of chirps throughout the years. Different things about my size, said in so many ways … including plenty of stuff I’m not so comfortable repeating here. Get used to it, because it’ll come. Everyone handles it differently, but I’ve never been a big chirper myself because the sound of the goal horn is loud enough.

League was too harsh - Wideman screwed up but that is a 10 gamer to me and even less if Dr. Recchi says he's concussed.
