He hasn't been sent back to Calgary as of yet, so I guess that could be taken as a good sign (maybe he could play in a future game on the road trip). After tonight, Flames don't play again until Tuesday in Philly.

The Calgary Flames have claimed defenceman David Schlemko off waivers from the Dallas Stars and placed captain Mark Giordano on injured reserve with an undisclosed upper-body injury.

Giordano, a front-runner to win the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenceman, was listed as out indefinitely several days ago.

Yeah, the Flames had to be hiding that a little bit to save face of sorts. That's a pretty easy diagnosis. I mean, if it's a full rupture it's noticeable without MRI, and assuming he needs surgery it was a pretty hefty one.

As bad as this hurts the Flames, they have 20 games left and are sitting in a playoff position. It's not like their season is over just yet. A decently hot goalie can steal you a few games and you never know.
