Greg Millen's laugh there is pure gold.

He should have shown some Costanza-esque showmanship and just retired right there.

I'm pretty sure those are two clips from two different games edited together.

I don't think Ruutu and Vigneault were together in Van City.

Once again, whispers are making the rounds that Calgary Flames president Ken King will relinquish his post as team president in order to oversee the club’s push for a new arena, and the club will hire a new team president to oversee the hockey operations. King couldn’t be reached for comment Friday.

Names bandied about for the post include the NHL’s senior vice-president of hockey operations Colin Campbell, NHL vice-president of hockey and business development and director of player safety Brendan Shanahan, NHLPA special assistant to the executive director Mathieu Schneider or even Brian Burke, who is currently working for the Anaheim Ducks.

Datar pipes in:

There was no chance of the Avs accepting Calgary’s offer for one very good reason too: they hate the Flames, over the Ryan O’Reilly offer sheet. Those in Avs management still around from last year would rather walk on hot coals from Santa Fe to Saskatoon before doing the Flames any favors.

Maybe the Avs should start being some cheapskates and sign their young players. Hard cheese if they don't like it.

Calgary Flames offered three first-round picks to Avalanche for No. 1

Colorado should have let Calgary have O'Reilly. Then again the Blue Jackets are the team that would have ended up with him at the time. I don't know what Sherman was thinking, but he blew it.

Flames have acquired the rights to Corban Knight from the Panthers for a 4th round pick in the 2013 draft. I guess Knight informed the Panthers that he wouldn't be signing a contract with them. A 6'2" center and 200 lbs according to hockeydb.com. Some pretty good stats at the University of North Dakota. The love affair with NCAA players continues with the Flames.

Sounds like Feaster is confident he can ink the kid:

Corban Knight is a player our scouts have been watching closely throughout his collegiate career," said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. "When Florida did not sign Corban this spring we contacted them and asked for permission to speak with him. Florida granted teams, including ours, that opportunity on the condition that we were prepared to trade for his rights. During the past ten days we spoke with Corban and his agent, and were pleased to learn Corban wanted to start his pro career in Calgary. We were able to consummate the trade today with Florida, and are confident we will get Corban signed when permitted in July. We are thrilled to add him to our organization, and look forward to his debut in a Flames’ sweater this Fall."
