sketchy way this has come out ... ie Kipper not telling the Flames management he was retiring

but then there is this ... finnish coach may have released the info to make Kipper look bad

Vesa Rantanen ‏@vrantanen now FIN ntnl team coach told Kiprusoff had ok'd to announce his retirement. But remember: same coach in Turin where Kippre declined.

Meh, I'm pretty sure Flames management knew Kipper was going to retire. If we want to talk sketchy, how about Kipper's cap circumvention contract (it was a trailblazer lol)

1.25 million for Galiardi on a one-year deal. 6'2" and 210 lbs, not bad Feaster, keep it up.

Not sure whether you implied there's something positive about paying $1.25M for Galiardi but if yes, I think you're going to be slightly disappointed with his performance.

He probably wanted even more from SJ (he thinks he's worth a lot more for some reason... went through arbitration with SJ last year, I think it was?)... He probably asked to be traded to Calgary since he lives there and I'm just glad Dougie Wilson got anything in return for him.

For 1.25 million, I'm not expecting all that much, but I thought Galiardi played quite well in the playoff series against Vancouver. As you mentioned, he's a local kid with good size and an agitator and will make the Flames a little grittier (which they need to be).

You're right, he did quite well once he started skating with Thornton & Burns, but he struggles aimlessly out there if his linemates can't carry him, IMO..

Hope he does the little things that he can be expected to do well for you guys; I've got nothing against the guy but just never really liked him on our team... or rather, the effort wasn't there consistently enough... and when it was, the skills just weren't there... or something. Hah!

I don't know, there were times last season the Jackman-Begin-McGratton line looked unstoppable out there
