Probably ~6 games for that cross check for Mo, based on the way suspensions are handed down (factoring in that Mo is a first time offender and there was no real injury on the play). No justification for that reaction, no matter how much you think that taunt deserved some form of retribution.

Looks like a big opportunity for Timmins and Lagesson.

I agree with most of this, I mean, Greig has played enough hockey to know that there was going to be a response for what he did no matter how dumb you think it is that guys should be offended by a slapper into an empty net. Rielly just made a really stupid decision in the moment and is going to sit for a few games.

I tend to agree also. One small matter that "may" be relevant was the time on the clock. If there was still a minute left, the slapshot is probably less excused. But there was like 4 seconds, and who can blame a guy for trying to ensure he is staying even with Ovie on eng.

I say that after sitting through a scenario where Nashville may or may not have scored an eng with like 0.1 seconds, and the officials spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out if it counted. This was the NYI game where most of the team went to the dressing room.

I think/hope most reasonable people understand Rielly's actions were uncalled for.
