The good part is that Dubas didn’t trade this year’s first rounder and the Leafs can dismantle the roster enough to actually kinda tank a bit. Strip everything bare for depth picks, re-sign Nylander, and try this from a different angle with a stocked cupboard and a few good prospects already in the pipe. Even if they don’t wind up in the top few there’s 4 or 5 defensive prospects in the top ten of recent mocks that can help this team in a few years when they might be able to build a real contender.

The bad part is the current GM can and probably will absolutely Fuck them out of that possibility.
