I might as well add the tune (live performance at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto).

The Leafs might not have a single good defenceman right now, nor do they have the type of goaltending who can stand on their heads and steal games against good teams.

Forget the bottom 6, this is the kind of shit that can doom your season early. And it might be a blessing anyway - that would force them to move Nylander or Marner, cash in the rest of the periphery for whatever they can and use the assets to actually build a top-down competitive roster that doesn't get caved while also ending the Keefe era.

Or maybe I'm overreacting after 3 games.

From Friedman:

Five points in two games as Nick Robertson starts his AHL season. It wasn’t easy for him to go back to the Marlies, but all you can do is produce and he’s started right. Apparently, it was pointed out to him that the Maple Leafs carry the minimum 12 forwards, so there will be opportunity for him if something happens. You can also see a situation where if this goes too long, he might ask for a fresh start.

I get that this is just Friedge speculating but if there's any thought in the kid's head that he's being wronged somehow then just ship him now. He's been hurt the majority of every season he's been a pro. A lot is bad luck but if you can't handle that you need to build from the bottom up then just send him to San Jose for a 3rd and be done with it.

That’s a weird goal to blame the goalie for. He was screened by pretty much everybody on the ice.

Already a dud lol

Steve Dangle (yeah, I know, I know) was wondering why nobody on the Leafs went after Kulikov for that hit on Nylander last night. Seems that would be something that falls into Raves' job description.

Having a goon to go and get even doesn't help when the team's already down and would result in an instigator.

Which is why it's pointless to have a goon anywhere except the AHL that you can call up if your team has a heated rivalry once in a while. Which the Leafs already had in Kyle Clifford, I thought.

I'll excuse Bertuzzi since he's been hurt apparently but if things don't change up soon there's going to be as many people asking why they're paying $11 mil for Domi, Reaves, Kampf and Klingberg as there were last season asking wtf Kerfoot, Holl, ZAR, Murray and Jarnkrok were doing there for $12 mil.

To go from leaky Ilya in the first to Woll robbing Kucherov twice late in regulation sure is something.

Woll’s net.

Pajamas puts the Bolts to bed in OT. On review, looks like it is Slick Willy's goal.
