I like Schenn but this isn’t a guy you really go long negotiating a contract for but rather “here’s $2 mil/yr for 2 years that’s what we can do” and if he’s not down let him walk. Last thing you want is big physical guy in his mid 30s signed for half a decade because the GM galaxy brained himself into thinking he’s super important and not entirely replaceable.

2 years is the absolute maximum I'd go on him. Honestly, I'd rather 1 year at about 1.5 million USD.

Schenn knows the Canucks are happy to give him that as well,
So he's waiting to see if someone will give him the Gubberson money

How much do think he's going to end up signing for? I still think he's got some game left, but you're on acid if you give him a contract of 3 years or more.

agree, he should be asking for 2 years, teams should be offering 1. whoever blinks first.
same with money, he should be asking for $1.5-2.0, teams should be offering $1ish

he hasn't made over $1.0MM since 2018, but the UFA class is pretty shit

So he re-signed Rielly when he had younger cheaper Rielly then traded younger Rielly because there was no room for two Rielly’s then inexplicably wanted to trade for better Rielly and this is the genius everybody’s sad about?

It's pretty simple, sign Matthews shortly after he's eligible to extend and trade Willy or trade Matthews and sign Willy. The insyderz are gonna pump this like crazy, especially if it's a quiet week, but there's nothing more to it than that.

Re: defence, i'm pretty sure someone out there would trade for one year of Brodie, especially if you're picking someone up from a rebuilding team (like, say, Philly or Calgary) so why bother buying him out? Especially when it probably makes way more sense to buy out Murray.

She was the only real option on the left while the rest of the idiots in the centre and right stayed in the race for some stupid reason rather than stepping down for Bailao to run away with it.

If she doesn’t raise property taxes by like triple the city is doomed but she will also never get re-elected if she does that. She also ran on a bunch of stuff she can’t actually do (like change plans for the Ontario Place lands) because it’s provincial jurisdiction and also the premier is not particularly fond of her so…yeah, good luck lady lol

I guess it's a catch all for people of non-European descent since calling Asians "people of colour" isn't exactly always true (and also kind of racist).

Although I'm a little confused because Toronto had a very Jewish mayor just 20 years ago and if Jewish isn't considered "racialized" I'm not sure the word has any meaning.

/I also kept seeing "first female mayor of Amalgamated Toronto which is also stupid because Toronto has amalgamated like 4 times. It's just the media's dumb obsession with trying to make everything "historic".

This tweet is so bad, but if you have watched any of J.J, youtube videos, it's no surprise. He's essentially a grifter trying to pander to an American audience putting on a fake accent.

I'm not a fan of Chow but she's a career politician who spent far more time on Metro and then City council than she ever did in Ottawa. For better or worse she's as much a "downtown" Toronto pol as her late husband ever was, with her own career and record to run off of.

About the other two though...
