I hope it's nothing serious and I don't get any enjoyment from somebody losing their job (Tucker being an exception).
Jeff's a dope but I did find the show entertaining. He did have a knack for calling out some of the dumber takes on things and not just blindly consuming the MLSE kool aid.

I guess I just hope he didn't do something awful or isn't having any health issues.

/Maybe they can replace him with Tucker? :noidea:

Tucker knows all about what goes into a good powerplay, he just took things a little too far at Fox.

"The Leafs' strength is its right wing. Everyone knows that. What everyone doesn't know is what how the left wing can easily bring them down. That's what the left does. And by the way, so does Wayne Simmonds."

Yah hopefully nothing serious. Hopefully that big goof is just taking a sabbatical to search for his missing world junior gold medal

This deal as well as Nylander and Marner’s gets rotten on July 1 with all the NTC’s kicking in (why superstar UFA GM Kyle Dubas threw those in for one year of UFA at exorbitant AAV’s is anybody’s guess).

Leafs pretty much have to be sure by the draft that he’s staying and have a contract agreed that gets signed on or shortly after July 1. Absent that you have to deal him, you just can’t hamstring yourself like that.

Exactly. Same with Marner. No idea who will be a tougher sign. Would not shock me if they were both dealt pre-July 1. Also wouldnt surprise me if they both sign insane $$ contracts.

First thing they have to do is decide on Dubas. Dump him now and give the new GM time to get settled, or keep him.

Marner is a judgment call though - do you think you’re better off with him or with cap + assets? He’s here for two more seasons so if you’re moving on from him it’s because you think you can make the team better by doing so.

Matthews is a no brainer want to keep guy, you just have to be absolutely certain before July 1 he’s going to sign or you just lost about 99% of your leverage.

And to a lesser extent (he has a 10 team NTC) you need to know what you’re doing with Nylander, but that also goes hand in hand with the other two (if you get rid of one you probably want to keep Bill).

Leafs basically have until Friday to get shit figured out management-wise. They need to be in on replacements if Dubas is gone no later than that.

Elliot just said he thinks AM will re-sign and with the highest AAV in the league .

I would rather trade him for as much as you can and build a stronger team
