First off, they know exactly who is driving. 30 frickin years ago, they had cameras that got a clear as day photo of my license plate when I was travelling 130 down the 401 at 10 pm at night. They know who this is

Second, gotta believe that Dale Earnhardt is looking down with a tear in his eye. He would be so proud.

Dash cameras usually get a pretty clear grab of plates even from distance. The problem is this is clearly someone holding a phone, which is always going to be out-of-focus and the quality varying based on the phone model. This is also why it took so long to find the Lumina with the wood (he was caught yesterday I believe).
