And honestly, doesn't Auston belong on here? As far as I am concerned he is already a better Leaf then Jim McKenny.

Too high?
Even taking his "heart" into account, he belongs 30-40 in the ranking of players of a team that has 13 Cups and a shit ton of great players who never won one.

Shit, Tucker is at 70 and if he had played his first 5 and a half seasons in Toronto his points and GP as a Leaf would be similar to Clark's. Would you rank Darcy Tucker anywhere near the 15 best players in this team's history?

Any list that has Gary Freakin Leeman 15 spots higher then Eddie is a BS list, and isn't worthy to be used as Phil's hot dog wrapper.

Speaking of Phil, he is also too low I think. I thought that this was simply a typical result for the best player on teams that didn't win anything until I saw Rick Vaive 28 spots higher.

Probably trying to avoid the question "why did you trade the 25th best player in team history, Shanny?".

I don't like thinking about how fun it would be to watch this team play if he were still on it. They're fast and fun and exciting enough already, PHIL! may be too much.

It's too bad he's a RW because they are still a little light on the left side.

They wouldn't have come in last if they'd kept him so while squinting I suppose one might see a team without Matthews too, but of course that could have easily happened while coming in last without Phil anyway.

But he'd be loads of fun playing with these guys, that's for sure.

When Brown scored the first goal Saturday, my first thought was "who in their right mind would keep Prust over this kid?"

He has the potential to make one of Marner or Nylander (probably Nylander) expendable. That would be one hell of an asset to float for a RD.

Well in his defense I don't think he would have said that if Brown didn't have waiver options so he wasn't talking about cutting him outright

Someone of that calibre. Doubt it happens anytime soon though, would probably want to build his value up for another year or two.

Have we been watching the same player? No way I trade him for Trouba.

Okay. Marner, then?

Or are we doing that game that people do with young teams where they don't think you don't have to give up anything good to get anything good? Maybe we can be like Edmonton and do that for 6 years and then give up the finished product for a 2nd pair guy and call it a W, or like the Isles and the highlight of Auston's time here will be making the second round once.

I don't disagree with the general premise of what you're saying here, I just think you're proposing it too early and with the wrong player.
