Guys, maybe I was wrong about Jeff "PK" Petry - Since dealing him away, the Oil have gone 0-6-1 and have scored 10 goals while allowing 28 goals.

/Petry for Norris?

Oilers officially eliminated from playoffs for the 9th straight year

Staying mathematically alive into March = bold move!!

I anticipate the Oilers competing well into Smarch next year.

its shaping up pretty good for a repeat of last season

final day of the season ... oilers beat the canucks in a meaningless game ... go from spot 29 to spot 28 in the nhl draft lottery ... spot 29 wins draft lottery :thumb:

make it happen oprah (but make the final game of the season not matter to the canucks because theyre already in the playoffs :thumb:  )

They screwed themselves out of Patrick Kane in a similar fashion - won their last game of the season against the playoff bound Flames and leap-frogged the Hawks right out of the lottery. Hawks won and selected Kane, Oilers selected Sam Gagner who is now a Coyote.

Maybe if the Oilers lost, the league wouldn't have fixed the draft to allow Chicago to get Patrick Kane, and maybe the Flyers would have multiple cups by now

Oilers are no good

Sure, but the Oilers would've just ruined Kane and he'd be a middling NHLer on the Coyotes, just like Gagner.

Hate to say it, but the Flyers would have taken JVR if they had the 1st pick anyway. Philly wanted a future power forward.

I really don't care who wins the draft lottery this year as long as it's not Buffalo.

I don't think it was because they wanted a future power forward - it was because he was from the area

The Flyers were looking for a power forward winger. Taking the hometown kid is nice, but they honestly believed JVR was the best player in the draft.

Either way, it wasn't smart
