It also illustrates that Edmonton media for the most part are fanboys with Jonathan Willis being the lone exception.

Where's Messier on this one?

A guy who's nickname was mess (at times) seems like a perfect fit.

And I just checked... HE'S A FORMER OILERS PLAYER!!!!!

I guess when your professional sports teams stink, you gotta find something to boast about...

Oilers considered McDonagh for No. 4 before Hall-Larsson trade - TSN.ca

Risky to call McKenzie out on anything ever because he is usually flawless with his stuff but if there was that much talk on the floor in 2016 about deals near the top of the draft why on earth did we not hear anything about it until after Chiarelli gets canned two and a half years later? Did Chia get fired and decide to just text every reporter he knows that he almost made some sensible trades before reconsidering and making all of his idiotic ones? Are these guys so wrapped up in their access (which, I know, they need as a basis of their entire profession but…) that they thought reporting on trades that were very real possibilities but never happened would cost them access to Chia? Couldn’t they have given the info to a lower-rung “insider” to report?
