No offense to Leafs and Jackets fans, but lighting up those teams up who are sporting rosters filled with AHL callups and fringe NHLers doesn't do it for me. Hey, the guy is a great player and will likely have a fine career, we don't need to put up a statue quite yet though.

Prior to his injury:

2 pts vs. Washington
2 pts vs. Montreal w/Carey Price

I get the hype is a bit much but, to be honest, there isn't much else to really get hyped up about in the NHL at the moment unless you like Patrick Kane. This has been about as dull a season of hockey as there's been in my lifetime, so anything to spice it up a bit is fine with me. Even if it has to be an Edmonton Oiler.

dont know ... just so many links between Eriksson and Benning ... he was instrumental in trading Seguin for him plus Eriksson completely lit up the worlds when he played on a line with the Sedins a couple years back
