They received a big bump from Connor McDavid and they beat the worst team in the league (points wise) and a struggling team in Ottawa. Heck, they'll probably go into Montreal and beat the Habs on Hockey Day in Canada. I'm not ready to start planning the parade route though.

Not at all. It just looks inevitable at this point.

The coach is a moron.

The defense sucks except for one guy (and his partner) who is being ridden into the ground by being played ~30 minutes in blowout games.

The number one goalie has been worn down due to points 1 and 2.

The forward unit is struggling with injuries and really stupid line combinations and player usage.

It's a tire fire, and sadly it's not even intentional. They're just playing like shit and coaching and management is not doing what needs to be done to help the team through some key injuries.
