Okay, let's compare hits -First one is Gudbranson on Hall (looks pretty clean to me). Second one is Hendricks on Ekblad. This one is as dirty as they come. Oilers commentary team seems okay with it and downright giddy about the hit, though. No penalty on either hit (first one because it was hard, clean check, second one I don't know what the refs are smoking).

Ekblad hit was definitely worse, no question.

But the hit on Hall was late, there was no attempt to play the puck, was on a star player on a team that already lost one star player to a hit that was borderline dirty...


Skinny of it, Hendricks should've retaliated differently but Oilers had cause for beef.

TBH, that gif looked different the first few times I viewed it. Puck was still on Hall's tape.

My loathing of the Oilers is well documented, so your comment made me go back and review the hit several times to make sure I wasn't viewing the video through hater glasses. Looks like a pretty clean hit to me, although I can understand while the Oilers wouldn't like it.

Hey, if you wanna throw down to protect a star player's honour, okay. If I, upon review, can still think it's borderline for a minute the guys on the bench probably think it's much worse.

But what Hendricks did was ugly. And also, why not retaliate on Gudbranson?
