Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but I think the Oilers and Devils make a ton of sense as trade partners. They need D, we have plenty of D. We need scoring line forwards, they have scoring line forwards. We're not in direct competition with one another by any means.

Given his production last year Gagner will probably get somewhere in that neighbourhood, Dash.

I love his goal celebrations, it's like he's won the Stanley Cup everytime he scores...Him and Yak are great to watch.

When was the last time that there was an on ice fight between two players from the same team? :D

Mike "Shakey" Walton is the last mid-game one I can remember, in the mid 1970s

Habs seem to have an in-practice fight every other year though
and of course the 'you banged my wife' gang seem to settle things in the dressing room

Oh please make it come true Oprah:

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 3m Winter uses the word "deception" to describe Holmgren telling him initially that Bryzgalov would not be bought out.

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 34s
Wow. Winter ANNIHILATES system in Philly. Says it's brutal for goalies. No clear lanes, can't see the puck, goalie coach no authority etc.

OilersNow ‏@OilersNow 47s
Winter: "There's more wrong with Philadelphia's goaltending than just the goaltending."

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 7s Ritch Winter says Bryzgalov would "actively consider Edmonton". Sounds like they are absolutely targeting the Oilers as a landing spot.

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 16s Winter said Bryzgalov would hate the weather in Edmonton but would love the energy in a hockey city and thinks the team can win. He'd come.

"You don't say?"

Edmonton? The only thing better would be Bryz in Vancouver with Torts.

I wouldn't even do Gagner for Oleksiak and Staples wants to throw in pick #7 as well?

I guess "The Boys on the Bus" read from the same script. Hey Messier, shut the hell up.

“I have tremendous respect for the coaching fraternity and for the art of coaching, I don’t take it lightly. I understand the benefit of experience.

But I have a lot of experience in this game and in winning. I’m not 32. I’m 52. There’s a little bit of water under the bridge. I’ve learned a lot. My experience shouldn’t be discounted or under-appreciated, either.”

Hey Mess you could learn a thing or two from Patrick Roy. He bought a team in the Q & ran it from top to bottom. He even drove the bus.

And any doors that needed ripping off... he was right there : thumb:
You raise a good point though - Roy paid his dues on the coaching / operations side for sure

I just think this is sour grapes from Messier. How can he expect to be named the head coach of the NY Rangers when he's never coached anywhere before?
