as much as I like to make fun of edmonton, I think they had one of the strongest draft days
- Nurse was the exact player they needed.
- Slepyshev could be the steal of the draft (if he comes over)
- Houck is just hard work personified.

I guess I was thinking more along the lines of getting rid of some dead wood (namely Hemsky and Horcoff). It could be that outside of the NW division, the number of dummy GMs are few and far between.

That was a heck of a 1st round pick (15th overall) in the 2007 entry draft. Riley Nash (selected 21st overall in the same 2007 draft) is no longer with the organization either. Keep up the good work Lowe.

All good things must come to an end, Mooger. The tables are starting to turn a little, but as long as Kevin Lowe holds the keys, I still think the Oil will fail to reach the level that fans expect them too.

Can't argue with that. Neither of our respective teams are in any position to be slagging off the other one really...but it's what we do I suppose. I still like our long term outlook better than yours right now though

I can't disagree with that - I think MacT has made some nice moves this off-season and I think he along with Eakins will change the culture in Edmonton.

/You also have to like that fact that Detroit and Columbus are now out East, that's two less teams to fight with for a playoff spot
