They seem to think they can just coast through to victories, especially when their opponent is not having a good season. That's not a good trend.

Although, credit where credit is due, Ullmark was stellar and the Sabres played hard. The Jackets just never pushed.

Ullmark played awesome for his first game, but we see to take a lot of low quality shots to pad our SOG

Didn’t know whether to put this here or in the HNIC comedy thread but I didn’t watch HNIC this past Saturday because only crappy non-Toronto teams were playing but it recently came to my attention that Nick Kypreos said the Habs want PLD and can trade Alex Galchenyuk for him.

Don’t even know where to start with that one but Kypreos needs to go yesterday. Friedman must’ve been sitting next to him thinking to himself how long post-concussion syndrome can actually last for.

There are definitely times when you see Kypreos struggling to come up with the right phrase or simply forgetting a player's name that was just being discussed and you see aw shucks Ronnie or Elliotte helping him out.

Maybe it is signs of CTE then.

Oddly, when he's on 590 for the random morning drive hit he sounds a little more coherent but usually it's just Leaf talk so maybe it's because he's more familiar with the subject matter.

I've heard some people discussing it here. "Montreal covets Pierre-Luc Dubois".

Well, yeah. Pretty much any GM with eyes and access to NHL Center ice probably thinks a lot of him. He's growing into his own quickly. He's two years away from being a force. And as such, him and Panarin are the only two forwards on the team Jarmo will not trade under any realistic circumstances.

On NHL Network down here, Kypreos was interviewing Kevin Stevens and it was cringey. He actually asked Stevens if the drug abuse started because the coach was on his case.

Jackets go to Vegas, Baby, Vegas

Torts is taking the second youngest team in the NHL to Vegas a few days early and encouraging them to experience the city.

LOL

Now, JJ to the Oil to play D in exchange for RNH? I am good with that.

Edmonton will be an interesting team to watch at the trade deadline - I mean, surely they don't think they still have a chance to make the playoffs, do they?

Between now and the deadline they play 16 games. Of those, only 6 are against teams currently out of a playoff spot.

However, 3 of those playoff team games are against the Avs, who will stop streaking at some point. They also play Calgary on Thursday, who they’ve already beaten twice, and another Vegas trip which they played decently enough against before their break on the back of a good Talbot performance.

On the flip, they have two California swings in that span.

Honestly, with ten points to make up and three games against the team they’re chasing as well as a handful of games against the teams in between them, I’d say it’s still possible. Talbot would have to find some serious consistency though and nothing he’s done this season has indicated he can do that.

kind of odd to have that throwaway line at the end about the police.
another tweeter following the BJs saying Dubie's going back to Ohio to see an eye doctor.
