Like, what in the fuck is wrong with this guy?

Mike Babcock is one weird dude, but you have to think that he's just blown any chance of getting hired again to coach in the NHL. Oh and it's not the fans or GM's cancelling you Mike, you did that all by yourself.

And once again the bag full of MSM “insiders” didn’t know sweet fuck all about this? All their connections etc and not one caught wind of this?

Or did they and did they just not say anything despite all of their “strive to do better” bullshit after every fucking scandal this league deals with?

Here's the time line:

Todd Richards loses the team, right after Jared Bednar wins the Calder cup with the same group (after taking over for Richards in the AHL). Richards fired.

Jarmo hires Torts, Bednar goes to the Avs.

Torts lasts twice as long before the typical Torts flameout. But it ends exactly as everyone predicted it would.

Jarmo decides to hire the "good cop" to Torts' "bad cop" - Brad Larsen. Could have gone all in with Pascal Vincent at this point.

Bednar wins cup in Colorado

Brad Larsen turns out to be a wet rag with no hockey sense and gets fired, everyone expects Jackets to hire Vincent, and Jarmo hires the coach with the second biggest crate of baggage in league history. He doesn't last until training camp.

They finally hire Vincent.

Long story short, we are right where we could have been 3 years ago except we've had 2 years of futility and now the look of a monkey trying to fuck a football.

And we could have gone back 8 years and avoided all of it completely.

How does the team address this statement without acknowledging now that management half assed an investigation on something that was obviously wrong between their high-risk coach and players on their team, apparently some of the youngest, in order to shut up any hint of a problem and move forward?

I don’t see how either Jarmo or Davidson stick around here, they’ve just completely shot their credibility with half their roster. I’m not sure Jenner’s getting off here, either.
I would be okay with them taking the C from Jenner. I'd be even better with them trading him.

That has nothing to do with this incident.

Twitter is an absolute gold mine of boomers right now calling the younger generation soft.

Hopefully when they go in to work tomorrow, their boss asks them to unlock their phone and hand it over so they can go through it.

This guy is close with Laine and Jarmo and broke the Laine extension hours before anyone here got a sniff.

I hate that biz put me in a position to defend Mike Babcock and I hate that Mike Babcock put me in a position to have to say biz was right.

Fuck both of those assholes the sport would be so much better without both of them.

Also, I can see Johnny, Zach and Jenner having perfectly normal (in their opinion) interactions and being unaware of others' interactions. But Jenner is the captain and the team's NHLPA rep. He should have known better than to put his name on a statement without checking with everyone on the team. He simply failed at his job. Hope Vincent strips all the letters and starts over.

That is shocking

Doug MacLean won 24 games and Brad Larsen won 62.

Also shouldn't Babs' "From/To" be July - Sept?
They have Babs in 2024 on CBus. They know something we don't?

Is Jarmo gonna go Steinbrenner here?

Guessing Jarmo and Davidson aren’t going to resign at this press conference.

Shit all for accountability. This team will be very easy to root against.

Didn’t read the release from the org yesterday, didn’t notice Jarmo made sure to thank Babcock for being an absolute cock.

“On behalf of the entire Blue Jackets organization, we want to thank Mike for his hard work and the professionalism he has shown in working together on a plan to step down.”

Lotta hard work tracking down every guy under 23 and going through his DM’s ya know?
