Quite a promotion for Dorsett. From an assistant coach at the high school level last year to a dev coach for an NHL team this year. He was an assistant to a friend of mine last year.

Hopefully Le test Tube can hold a clinic on how to win defensive zone draws before heading north.

So he won't get the vaccine so sending him to AHL camp is ok? :noidea:

as it's a two-way contract, that seems like an option.
opens a bit of a question though...

wonder what happens if someone on a one-way deal gets the same deal.
pay him NHL salary, has to clear waivers etc. that works too.
what if someone has a no-move?
does the NHLPA step in, and what would their stance be. protect 685 members from 15 idiots, or protect the freedoms of the 15?

Oh yeah I was being facetious. And yeah I agree they are catering to this one idiot to not protect all the players/coaches/personal at the AHL/ECHL levels.

I think it boils down to the fact that the Jackets do not like paying players to not play. They gave him a contract and he hasn't given them cause to terminate it. Yet. Could be a DeAngelo situation soon.

And if the AHL mandates vaccines - there's the out.

I was wondering what would happen if a star said no. Seth Jones did retweet and like some Qanon/antivax stuff in the last year. As far as I remember, he did get vaccinated, but what would a team do if someone of his stature wouldn't do it?

I admit, I was a tad worried about Werenski too. He's also really conservative on social media.

should be noted that his Zac's decision (if he sticks with it) will cost him $475,000 in salary

/granted, that's a bold assumption that he would actually make the big club

Holy shit. Kid just came off a 6 points in 3 games run at Traverse City and on day one of camp he is between the two top wingers.

Reminder - he is the guy we picked with the first rounder Chicago gave us for Jones.
