Going the Oilers route is an interesting team development strategy.

The good thing is the ones (except Nash) coming back are all guys who had to scrap to make it in the show. The kind of guys you want helping guide the young guys we have who are all mid/high prospects. Foudy and Bemstrom have the tools to be great. They just need to be pushed to get there. Not like we're bringing back MacTavish and Lowe who will just sit in their office reflecting on their glory days and get pissed off when everyone else can't achieve it.

Plus as GoBucks says having guys who made themselves fan favorites teaching the young guys to love it here can't hurt.

I fully expect Kukan or Robinson to be the ones to go. I'd rather protect Nyquist. Even at 85% he's way better than Robinson at 100. Robinson was basically free (signed out of college after being undrafted). I think it's unlikely that they take Matiss, although his performance at the worlds might raise some eyebrows. His NHL record isn't all that attractive.

Plus with the focus on player development that the org is showing, having a few vets around to model how to behave will be good. Gotta keep Gus, IMO

First of all, fuck the petty bitches in the legislature for not putting it through Friday. Second, it'll be moot once the NCAA pushes through new rules this week. Thirdly, OSU cold have just thrown the bird to everyone and "allowed" it anyway. It's not against actual laws to profit off your likeness. It's a dumbass NCAA rule, and they wouldn't have done anything.
