I like the move for dejardenes. Just very cautious about it.

The Last big AHL hire was Dallas Eakins for Edmonton. Didn't last a Season.

I agree to the fact that Vancouver has way way way more superior talent then the Oil but still

im cautious about it as well but feel better about this hire. I dont think we settled we got the guy we wanted.

Wow. That low

OK. I would do without thinking

I know right. which makes me believe its nonsense and I wonder why Kuzma would post that.

The difference between these two hires is that Dallas Eakins was very young when he got his opportunity with the Oilers - Willie Desjardins is 57 so he's really had to work hard to earn his opportunity, I don't think you're going to see him taking it for granted like Dallas Eakins is

Also Willie Desjardins isn't a cocky arrogant SOB who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room either.

night and day personalities. I cant wait for draft weekend.

I was really worried wed end up with bylsma when desjardins went to visit pitt ... Phew

Mike heika was in the cesspool this week and said when gulletzen coached the stars with willie as assistant, he and alot of reporters got the feel that willie was more of the head coach than gully

Now gully will (possibly) officially be willies assistant lol

So the Canucks will be 1-1 after those two games then?

From Friedman

4. One team that has definitely made an offer? Vancouver. I believe it included their first pick in this draft (which is sixth overall) and Hunter Shinkaruk, who was taken 24th in 2013. There was at least one other piece, probably off the main roster, but I can't pin it down. It's not Ryan Kesler, who won't go there.

Maybe him and Tanev along with the 6th overall could get it done?

I just tweeted this idea on twitter since Chicago has Patrick Sharp available:

Panthers get: Patrick Sharp, Canucks 6th overall pick
Blackhawks get: Ryan Kesler, Panthers 2nd round pick
Canucks get: Panthers 1st overall pick, Nick Leddy, Drew Shore

This helps Chicago save some money & go for it now with Toews/Kesler 1-2 up the middle, and the money saved will help them lock up Kane/Toews

This helps Florida because they get a highly skilled winger who can play on the top line in Patrick Sharp, and with the 6th overall pick they can take another highly skilled forward like Nikolaj Ehlers

This helps the Canucks because they end up getting Aaron Ekblad with the 1st overall pick, along with a solid d-man in Nick Leddy and a solid prospect in Nick Shore(Panthers are deep up the middle so he's expendable)

I think the Panthers should stick with the 1st overall pick and take Aaron Ekblad but this wouldn't be a bad trade either

EDIT: Ryan Kesler could probably fetch more in terms of his value, but this is close enough

I'm not even sure Nucks would take Ekblad at #1.

/gotta keep one of the Reinharts out here.
//academic anyway, don't think we pay Florida's price

I was actually thinking of that, they might take Sam Reinhart - I know they love him
