Botchford was saying garrison and the 6th for the 1st

Tallon "alledgedly" never wanted to let him go and now the pans "alledgedly" have an owner that wants to spend money

Also saying he played through a broken ankle last season .... Hairline fracture

if that happened I would buy beers, maybe even scotch

So let's say Jason Garrison and maybe Kasperi Kapanen(just naming a guy who might be in that 6th pick area) for Aaron Ekblad - do you really do that? I like Jason Garrison, he has a booming shot and he played well and helped the Panthers make the playoffs two years ago, but Aaron Ekblad's a guy that can make your team better for the next 10+ years

Unless the offer blows you away, I think you stick with the first pick and take the defenseman - I know they're looking for someone to take a little pressure off Erik Gudbranson but you might be able to find that in free agency

Agreed, I think there's a better chance of a buyout than a trade

And I think the Canucks are better off keeping their pick too unless they can get another pick along with number six in that top 10 region - they need more assets in the system to replenish - more forwards especially

You think Kesler gets moved when all is set and done?

actually I think he has value just not great value, I think you can really get a mid range prospect for even a bottom 6 guy that can add value to your team. I dont think there is a need for a buyout for him. Unless its the first overall I dont want anymore florida players

Yeah I guess you're right, but that contract is still something I think teams might shy away from

Id rather have the pick as well, wish it was next year but we can still find something strong. not sure on Kesler, before Linden I thought he was a goner. they are friends so its hard to know. its in Keslers camp for what he wants

I kind of think Kesler still gets traded - I know they have a good relationship but I think for Kesler it's more about winning - maybe the Canucks sneak back into the playoffs next season if they make the right moves this offseason but they would do very little in the playoffs - I think Kesler really wants to win

New Job Coming

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported in Insider Trading on Wednesday that former Hockey Canada President and CEO Bob Nicholson will soon join the high ranks of an NHL team in a high executive capacity - above the level of president and below that of an NHL owner.

Ken Campbell of The Hockey News added Wednesday that Nicholson has offers from Washington, Edmonton and Vancouver to be CEO, with the Capitals offering the most money.

I would be very happy with him joining the Canucks
