If Peyton Manning is out for the entire season, I wouldnt be surpirsed if the Colts ends up with the number one pick in the draft. WOOOOW, they could set there team up for another 15 years. Would they trade Peyton away?

Peyton just signed a huge contract.... who's going to take him? It is Peyton Manning though... but again it's Peyton Manning after a neck injury with mileage along with age.........

but then again its Peyton Manning.

Yeah, I was talking with a friend about that when we first heard about his slow recovery. Man, wouldn't that be something? The Colts get Andrew Luck. I do not know if the Colts will lose that many games, but who knows.

The Colts play in the AFC south, without Manning the only team that can beat them in that division is probably the Texans. They have a hard schedule this year so it could happen. I think the worse team in the NFL will be 5-11

Without breaking down everyone's schedules, I'm sure there's a couple 3 win teams out there.

If he were available by any stretch of the imagination, we would be fools not to acquire him.

Bill Simmons mentioned this yesterday, saying the Colts were bad enough to pull it off without Manning.....and compared it to the 1997 San Antonio Spurs sucking badly enough to get Duncan despite being good just about every other year. Interesting.

The other point he made the surprised me, if I have it right, is that the Colts whiffed on 5 straight #1 picks. Polian used to be the best GM in football.

With Lucas Oil hosting the SB this year I'm sure Isray & Co. had higher hopes than usual for this season; and, IMO, the South is still a 10-wins-takes-all division. I think Garrard may be all they need to win the div, so it will be interesting to see how Isray plays this.

That's interesting and its true, I can honestly see that happening.

Well Luck is the 2nd best qb in the draft so perhaps you are correct. Landry Jones is by far the best pro prospect to come along since Manning.

Seems like every year that there a good team that is hosting the SuperBowl that team always comes up short that season WTF seems like it happens every year.

Well didn't the Spurs(bad record yes) won Duncan off by winning the lotto? I don't recall them being the worst team that year.

To get Luck, realistically, one would have to be the worst team...

With perhaps the exception of SB XIX...that was pretty darn close anyway. I was thrilled last years host was nowhere to be found.

I've been saying Polian is the most overrated GM in football for a few seasons now. He's piggy-backing on one of the best QBs of all time since '98. His team is and has been a 4 or 5 win team without Manning.

Ozzie Newsome, Bill Parcells and Bill Belichik blow him out of the water as GMs.

You're right about that Clyde. Its like Danny Ferry with the Cavs. Lebron made him look like a good GM cause they kept on winning. Then these top guys get hurt or leave and the GM is exposed. They can try and say they were building the team around that star so if the centerpiece is gone... But I think thats BS. Maybe not in basketball...but in football it is. Look at the Pats when Brady went down.... the Eagles when any of their guys go down.
