Anthony 'Tired' Richardson can rest up on the bench.
He said it himself, he’s a running quarterback, maybe only Lamar is better. He’s great, or something.Good move by the Colts, they should’ve done it before now. Richardson isn’t capable of being an NFL QB right now - I didn’t think he was very good in college with the Gators and thought it was absurd how the Colts took him at #4, he’s never proven anything.
Richardson packs elite arm strength and athleticism into a big/physical frame for the position, but he is incredibly raw on tape. He has urgency and explosiveness in his setup, and the ball jumps out of his hand from his three-quarters arm slot. His arm strength is special; he doesn't even need to engage his lower body to make power throws deep down the field. On the flip side, his decision making and accuracy are a roller-coaster ride. He yanks his arm at times, leading to some ugly misfires. He forces too many balls into crowded areas, too. He is electric as a runner, using his burst, agility and power to rack up runs of 60-to-80 yards. In summary, Richardson needs polish, but his upside exceeds everyone in the draft class. He's a low-floor/high-ceiling prospect.somebody should find that draft thread.
NFL QB?
4th overall?
I got nothing.
he is a great prospect for many positions, not NFL QB, and I understand he can throw it in the next county.Richardson packs elite arm strength and athleticism into a big/physical frame for the position, but he is incredibly raw on tape. I'm looking at my first thoughts: I dont think you're getting a starting QB from Anthony Richardson until 2025 unless you're running the Ravens system. Could end up being the best player in the draft but at this point he is a prospect. Love his ability to extend plays but should be a bottom 1st rounder. Atlanta, however, could be a perfect fit for him as they run the ball a ton and have basketball players playing WR. Ridder also seems like a safe 'bridge' QB and not a franchise guy.somebody should find that draft thread.

I'm with cdumler7 on this one. AR might be the last raw prospect top 10 pick at QB. Seems like its win/win for a QB to stay in college until he is ready to leave.

They took 6 QB’s in the first 12 picks this last year.
Drafting QB’s who don’t deserve to be drafted that high isn’t going to stop. Because all you have to do is be right once and you are a legend. For every Anthony Richardson and Trey Lance there is a Josh Allen.
I think you could argue Drake Maye was a project but he wasn't getting much support in collegeThis last year was a bit different though. You are talking about QB's with 30+ starts at the collegiate level. Teams had a pretty good idea what they were getting. And it should be no surprise then that these guys are having pretty darn good success early in their careers. Richardson with only a handful of starts to his name and not many of those being elite level games is a very different picture than guys with 4 years of starting experience at different teams.
Drake Maye put up stellar numbers in college and started for 2 whole seasons. Richardson started for one season and put up mediocre numbers and the Gators went 6-6.I think you could argue Drake Maye was a project but he wasn't getting much support in college
Chris Simms and Kurt Warner both called Maye a project. Mayes supporting cast stunk, though, and I agree he was a better prospect than RichardsonDrake Maye put up stellar numbers in college and started for 2 whole seasons. I hope this is a memo to all young QB's in college. If you can stay and develop do it. The NFL will not give you the time to develop hardly ever. Colts drafted Richardson knowing he would need time and have now already benched the young kid even after a decent game. I get that he said he couldn't keep going because he was tired and that was a terrible decision to make that public, but this is what you get when you get a young player. They need time to learn all facets of the game including how to speak to the media.

Chris Simms is a known idiot, he’s spewed a lot of dumb shit over the years about various players and has been wrong many times. I don’t care what he says, one of the worst commentators out there. Maye does not have quite as much experience as the other QBs drafted high this year but he still started for 2 years and put up strong numbers and led UNC to winning seasons. Richardson wasn’t even good in college, he had horrid accuracy and didn’t even put up big numbers in his one year leading the Gators to a 500 record.Chris Simms and Kurt Warner both called Maye a project. Yep. In my opinion Richardson is the most unproven player to ever be drafted in the top 5 and has some of the weakest college numbers of any high draft pick ever.Been saying since day 1 his college numbers scared the shit out of me
His innacuracy was very obvious in college.
