He took a Redskins squad to the playoffs......with a Jim Haslett coached defense. That tells you a lot about him. And in Kubiak's system.....I think he'd be fine. You guys could do a lot worse than him. Like Geno Smith bad....
He relied a lot on raw talent that first season. After his injury, he dropped like a rock. I rather a QB with the smarts upstairs, and who is willing to study the films. Talent w/out a work ethic may get you a playoff berth, but not much else. Kaepernick at least has shown the smarts for the position.

It also doesn't appear that Elway and Co are that interested in RGIII, at least from recent reports.

I have always liked Kaepernick, and I think his abilities have been completely lost in the collapse of the 49ers .. Kaepernick wears #7 for a reason, and Elway has had good things to say about him all through out his career ..

Hall of Fame QB John Elway: 'I've Always Liked Colin Kaepernick'

I do like Brock, but I really like Kap, and if history tells us anything, it is that John Elway will stop at nothing to keep this team a Super Bowl contender - not to mention pulling out all the stops and making huge acquisitions ..

What do you think ??

How about a trade involving Kap and Demaryius Thomas ?

I do have reservations about Chip Kelly, as it seems Kaepernick fits what he wants ... Then again, so does Oz
Kaepernick is just a one trick pony... Very overrated.

Shanahan rushed him back too soon and he wasn't ready......I think he's 100% by now and he's too young to give up on the kid.....he's just 26......some QB's don't figure it out till that age. It isn't like he can't throw like say Tebow.....Griffin has a career 63.9 completion percentage and the last time he played (2014) he completed 68.9% of his passes.

And he has 40 TD's to 23 INT's thrown.....it's not like he is a TO machine. And 218ypg isn't bad. He could be a solid game manager with their defense and a solid running game. They don't need Peyton Manning or Tom Brady in his prime.

I can't believe I'm arguing for him when I should be hoping y'all end up with Geno Smith or Blaine Gabbert.

Taking a chance i like but when it's guys with ability question marks and brings media baggage to boot ...
During the season, you find yourself having the make decisions maybe before you wanted to make them. And thats because the media won't stop bugging you about it.

I think a lot of shit about him is made up and just others being jealous he was drafted so high and given the keys to the kingdom so to speak. And I think you guys could get him cheaper than Kaep now that Kelly is their HC.

But, I've always like Griffin so I could be biased.

RGIII didn't seem to be very popular in the Redskin's locker room. Cooley's comments about him this week were pretty interesting.

All the scuttlebutt is on Kaepernick. Might have even agreed on compensation. RGIII is not even on the radar screen at this point.

I will say this. Mark Schlereth said he called him in the past few days and talked to him about all that happened in Washington. He said you could tell that this kid has been humbled by all that happened and that RGIII has reached that point that he is ready to change his ways. Now maybe he is just good at fooling people but if true I would definitely want to see what he can do. Throw in getting him doesn't cost us a draft pick. Lots of unknown no matter what way we go though.

I remember loving RGIII's attitude/personality during the draft. He seemed like a really cool guy. When all of the rumors came out about his lack of leadership/aloofness, it never quite jived with what my impression of him was. I hope he's more of the class guy i originally thought he was.

Shanahan has said the biggest issue in Washington was what Snyder was telling RGiii. RGiii was empowered to act out and prevented him from earning and developing the way he needed to.

I think Elway could really connect, he was always viewed as brash and spoiled up until the end. Bradshaw used to rip him endlessly. His image at times was probably as bad as rgiii. But, it all worked out in the end.

How Gary Kubiak got the best out of Peyton Manning | The MMQB with Peter King

For some reason - this article from Sage Rosenfelds - printed just before the Super Bowl.

This is the best read on Kubiak's offense and his success that I've read.

Kubiak took Jake Plummer a free spirit if ever there was one - and built him into a Robo QB for a whole season. A season that made Kubiak's genius so obvious he got hired by the Texans as the HC and Plummer says that made him cry. CK is the ideal athlete for Gary Kubiak to train into his system. I think this will go - I hope it happens.

that is why a lurch is nuts to go to Houston and state that they give him the best chance to be successful

15 starting QB's in 15 years and with out Gary those number would be waaaaay higher

If Kelly hadn't been hired....I'd agree with you. Kaep is the perfect QB to run Kelly's offense.

Maybe, but it doesn't sound like he wants to stay in Frisco.

Yeah. I think Kelly will want to convince him to stay, but the Browns have offered a 3rd rounder for him but they want him to restructure his contract. It's probably 50-50 he stays honestly.
