A bit off topic.....I know @cdumler7's opinion but what are some other Denver fans opinions on what the Raiders have done so far in free agency? I was excited last season but looking back we signed a few guys who were retreads. This offseason I think we addressed several areas of need with guys actually in their prime.

DJ Hayden they say now is a bust so you need CBs and S.
Osleme is a great pickup.
Irvin could be dangerous opposite Mack. Smith is solid

Overall a nice FA period for OAK.

Thanks for your feedback.

Carrie and Amerson are average to decent CB's as #2 but Smith gives us a legit #1 CB and he's from a rival so that's always a plus.

We finally have a good front office and I really like JDR as the head guy.
You probably aren't going to find a lot of JDR fans here, understandably by how the last chapter with him ended. But I agree that the FO has been steady at the wheel - something Oakland desperately needed.

With the youth on the offensive side and the pick ups last year and this both through draft and FA, the Raiders should be very competitive this coming year for a playoff spot.

BTW, you are always welcome to come around here - I love to hear from fans of other teams.

I think not having JDR as your DC is going to benefit the Raiders. Think he will do better as a HC. He has the personality and respect of the players which is important as a HC. Just because you were a good defensive player, doesn't mean you qualify as a good D coach. Raiders are making smarter moves and definitely improving that team now. KC and Raiders are going to be tough games this season for sure.

I concur. That team has got a great young offensive nucleus, and with a couple pieces in their defensive backfield the Raiders are going to be in the mix again. Unless they completely fall apart which I suppose could happen too.....

The more I think about Kaepernick and his situation with the 49ers, the more I want him on the Broncos. I don't know if it will happen, but if he ends up a Bronco for 2016, he could be a very good fit and could have his career revived and rejuvenated. As someone already mentioned, he led his team to the verge of a Super Bowl victory.

Our defense, even with the losses we sustained so far in free agency, will be every bit as good as the defense he had during the 2012 season.

All these reports of Kap wanting to play for the browns were suspicious to say the least. There are even a few videos where people question why he would. Lets just say Im all for waiting...force their hand when the guaranteed $$ is due

I think the Broncos know what they need to do to get Kaepernick and they know what they will have to pay to get him contracted - they are building and creating cap space over the next few weeks to get there. I think Colquitt is $4 million dollars just waiting for when Elway needs it.

I posted something about it after Oakland signed Smith, Irvin, and Osemele. The thread was titled, "Man, I miss Al Davis" if that tells you anything.

Funny.....I'd be remiss without saying Crazy Uncle Al was critical to the success of the NFL but as he got older.....he certainly was a guilty of being a victim to Alzheimers.....In the last 9-10 years before is death he was making some weird moves.....I only say the last 10-12 years because we did make it to a SB in 2002 and I think he had a hand in that.
