For those people struggling to make ends meet though, it's an unnecessary expense. Just like those states banning abortion after 6 weeks (most women don't even know they're pregnant at the 6 week mark), it targets poor people especially hard.

It's notable how these formerly red stronghold states are getting Bluer and they are trying to change things in a manner that would make the newer bluer voter leave their state. It's almost as if they only care about retaining power.

Also notable how the same people who made up and then cried about death panels and health care decisions being private when the ACA was being framed out are now so suddenly interested in controlling two very specific types of health care.

I do wonder how many times Canada is gonna get fucked by this clause:

14 days is a very short time to not get caught. Basically if they manage to hop the border anywhere undetected they’re home free still.

If it was just the surgery part I'd come close to agreeing. I have a very good friend who is a social worker and psychologist she deals with kids having these issues often (it sounds like far more often than most people would think) and her main advice is no surgery procedures until 18 (or 20 ideally). And she's far more liberal than I am.

As for the hormonal treatments, I don't know enough. Is there a physical benefit for starting treatments while younger as opposed to waiting?

My problem is the governor deciding who can get surgery and who can't. Why is the gop perfectly fine with this surgery yet not ok with gender identity treatments?
