Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
Just trying to catch up here and while I see that some of the worst Republicans did end up winning, it was still a pretty good night for the Dems wasn't it?
For the most part. What is sad coming into this election the Democrats had a real opportunity to do something right. And as always they sputter at the wrong times.Just trying to catch up here and while I see that some of the worst Republicans did end up winning, it was still a pretty good night for the Dems wasn't it?
Some people think that actions like that are bold and actually mean something. I mean I get the others suck but......Curious to know the thought process behind someone going into a general election selecting "None"?

Democrats did that all themselves by returning a child to his father and loosening an embargo that hasn’t been effective in triggering regime change for 60 years. For the most part. Look at Florida, I knew it was very red, they did an amazing job turning the Cuban American vote deeper red than it was. The propaganda they use in Florida to scare them into thinking the democrats are essentially Fidel Castro, works amazingly well.
Yeah those items didn't help and added fuel to that fire. The messaging against democrats is pretty deep and really makes it easier to point the finger at democrats against Cuba. Even though nothing the Republicans in FL or elsewhere have done to make it any better.Democrats did that all themselves by returning a child to his father and loosening an embargo that hasn’t been effective in triggering regime change for 60 years.
It was far better than I expected.Just trying to catch up here and while I see that some of the worst Republicans did end up winning, it was still a pretty good night for the Dems wasn't it?
Here is the congressional district I am in, by just a quarter mile or so. The good news is because I'm barely in the districr I never see the insurrectionist bastard in my area.Speaking of gerrymandering, close friend/co-worker who was in Carolyn Bordeaux's district was in that little part of Gwinnett County that got added to Andrew Clydes district. Now they are stuck voting like this for the near future.
Granted he did state that candidate Ford did no campaigning or even had a good website telling the district where he stood on stuff. So he wonders if they put any effort into it would that number been more 60/40?
Yep it looks that way. I can only imagine the reason for that 50% requirement to win has some shady past to keep certain people from winning. So runoff in GA to determine who wins the senate again?
I guess I will have some research to do.
Scary thing if Walker wins the runoff election in December he will become the dumbest person in the Senate. So that means GA will lead the nation with the dumbest people in government. Pretty bad when we have states like KY, AR, MS and AL.Boebert lost, that undisputably makes MTG the dumbest member of Congress...
Yeah, kind of.Yep it looks that way. I can only imagine the reason for that 50% requirement to win has some shady past to keep certain people from winning.

The 80,000 votes from the gay libertarian I am not sure who those will go towards. Have a feeling, and hopefully most of those people will "no-show" the run off.PA did its job. Runoff in GA. FL is Florida.
Bobert got bitch slapped.
Damn you, OH. When are you going to eradicate that bible belt?
Republicans couldn’t be assed to get to the polls two years ago in the same situation, can’t imagine it’ll be much different this time.Scary thing if Walker wins the runoff election in December he will become the dumbest person in the Senate. GA had large turnouts this election cycle also. I think for the most part the GA republican leadership knows Walker was the wrong candidate and doubt they will push hard to get him elected.Republicans couldn’t be assed to get to the polls two years ago in the same situation, can’t imagine it’ll be much different this time.
Kemp beat the shit out of Abrams. If Republican voters wanted to this would’ve been over by now. It’s pretty clear at least a small chunk there 1) think Walker’s insane and 2) want nothing to do with Trump’s appointed numbskulls.
/speaking of Abrams and Beto, are we done trotting them out to lose elections or will we see both try to win the WH in 2024 now?
I was going to post that article. And knowing the history I think it is less "kind of" and more yeah that was the goal originally.Yeah, kind of.
Why Georgia has runoff elections
Racist lawmakers built Georgia’s election system, and now it’s affecting the balance of the Senate.www.vox.com
I really think Abrams lost it here before it ever even began:GA had large turnouts this election cycle also. I think for the most part the GA republican leadership knows Walker was the wrong candidate and doubt they will push hard to get him elected.
It will be interesting to see if the turnout/excitement happens, will keep everyone posted as I will be in GA a lot over the new few weeks.
I do know in GA, there are way too many suburban folks (of any race) that would not vote for Abrams. The reasoning they thought she was too pretentious and didn't care for them. Also, it didn't help Kemp had an advantage as being governor to continue to stop the state gas tax during the election season. This hit home with a lot of voters.
As for both of them I think they knew they weren't winning it was more to put out a popular candidate to show they are trying to push the states from being red to blue. The goal isn't for this election but for 2024 and 2028.
