Becoming dangerous?

Have some thoughts here, and it's not a black and white issue. First and foremost, where is the onus on media organizations to validate what they print? They are focused on being first, being right be damned. A fake picture does not panic people at the stock market on it's own. A fake picture causes panic when trusted entities claim it to be real and propagate it. Reagan did a lot of heinous shit, but gutting the fairness doctrine has left a long trail of destruction behind it. Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson... none of them happen with that rule still in place.

If they try to legislate AI because it is a tool with which people with bad intentions can cause harm then what does that do for boom boom sticks that bad people are constantly using to do harm? If a tool maker is responsible for how people use it, then all tool makers are responsible for how their tools are used. And you can't argue that AI creators should realize it could be used for evil, because hello. Guns are designed for one thing. Putting holes in things. Mainly living things.
