Unfortunately not. Those areas are still red and the only district on the west side of Atlanta that is blue would have to go away. The more blue areas are more on the east side of Atlanta.


With that said if Andrew Clydes area would have taken almost all of Gwinnett county McBath would have still won her district and he would have been voted out. Essentially what they did was take the Bordeaux part of Gwinnett county and gave it to Clyde. It was enough votes to take away from McCormick so he could win and nowhere enough votes to hurt Clyde.

My 16 year old is in AP Government and understands the process and aims of the US government better than most voters do. I would completely comfortable with allowing her to vote.
