It boggles the mind that you could write a tweet like that, read it and still think to yourself "Yeah, this shouldn't cause me any backlash" and still post it for the world to see.

I think it's important to consider the area though and wonder how those individuals would be presented without strict guidance from the state.

I'm in Northern VA right now in fact and I've spent significant time in the last few days driving on the Lee Highway and the Stonewall Jackson Highway. They still issue Sons of Confederate Veterans license plates.

Left to their own devices, people around here aren't going to present Confederates in a neutral manner the way the curriculum might make it seem. They're going to glorify them.
Understandable, and it’s really weird that those roads are still so blatantly honoring those dicks (roads are expensive to re-name but, like, come on) and those plates should be melted down to make cannon to shoot at Stone Mountain.

It just doesn’t appear at first glance that theyre going back to their 1960 curriculum is all. If they do then, yeah, fuck them but given that much of what was listed there was regarding slavery and included other prominent black historical figures leads me to believe this is as alarmist as the people who shriek when CRT is mentioned.

It is just sad we have to still deal with this.

There is a joke that folks in GA tell me, sadly with some truth in it, that certain schools in the south still teach that the South won the war.

Thanks Joe!

NOTE: I know the President had nothing to do with this. Since he gets blamed for things he has no control over lets praise him likewise.

It's different because one is in a dense city and the other's a regional connector route but the estimated cost to change the name of Dundas St. in Toronto was $6 mil to the city (and was probably on the low end given how shitty CoT are at estimating costs). The cost to the provincial government and businesses etc. is additional.

But, of course, there's a difference between a bullshit uproar to change a street named for a guy nobody had ever heard of until some egghead looked it up and found some very, very loose thread to pull at regarding slavery and the dude that led the Confederate Army sworn to protect the institution.

As for Stone Mountain I never understood why any minority (hell any sane normal person for that matter) would attend their christmas light show on that carving?

When I was working in Atlanta, I bought a Ford Explorer at Stone Mountain Ford with the intention of driving it back to Calgary. Since I was driving it back in January, I asked them if I could have a block heater installed. The guy just looked at me and said, "What's a block heater?"

I replied, "Never mind" :D

Lying twats

And you could swap the word Biden for Trump and every statement they made becomes true.

I don't understand what they hope to gain anyway. If it turns out he is guilty of something are they expecting Democrats to protect him?

If he committed a crime, he should pay. Kind of like, oh I don't know ALL OF THEIR GUYS. Especially illegitimate Gym Jordan.
