The Maritimes are at least on par with most of the Windsor-QC corridor in terms of living conditions, climate, etc. They’re also home to some of the best universities in the country and the travel distance to European destinations is an hour+ less than Montreal or Toronto (Halifax to London is 6 hrs).

It’s always been very weird to me that it always struggled to attract investment. Now that it is, they could see cities out there change very fast in the next decade+ as people run away from the higher-priced parts of the country.

There is probably some Ford related exodus going on too. I know there is plenty of Kenney-based emigration going on here in AB.

PC is one thing but Ford and Kenney are a different breed.
I don’t think Ford’s as wing nut as Kenney but that may just be a matter of opinion. Kenney’s got the full on Harper Reform breeding in him, Ford doesn’t seem to give a rat’s ass about anything socially conservative.

Ford’s as close to a Red Tory as there’s been in Ontario since the 70s. There’s plenty of stupid there but by and large his first four years we’re pretty much an extension of the Wynne years - not great but hardly a disaster. Also, neither could figure out how to make functioning license plates.

But I don’t know much about the two Maritime PC premiers so maybe they’re more center. I do remember seeing stuff on Twitter about the NS guy not being good when he was elected but again, that’s Twitter.

As to whether people are fleeing Ontario because of Ford I’d say there might be a few but mostly it’s cost of living. Quebec saw more Ontarians move in than Quebeckers cross west last year for the first time since the 70s. If people are afraid of Ford it would be a weird leap to go to Legault-Land.

Even if it would've actually given the CPC 9 more seats it wouldn't have mattered much in the grand scheme of things but still concerning nonetheless.

No doubt that it does, but his numbers aren't much better in the 35-49 to 50-64 age groups (33% and 35% respectively)
It would be hard to vote for him again at this point, but I guarantee I won’t vote Trump.

I might sit out the next election with general soreness

/or Desantis

Joe did what was needed to be done by beating Trump, but unless he starts writing out some executive orders, he won't win in 2024.

Unfortunately that is the goal of Republicans is to get folks to sit out the election so they can win.
We really don't want 2016 all over again.

He really has no hope of winning. Look at the mess Carter inherited and nothing he could have done would make him look good on top of his own gaffs. There really is no hope for Biden.

So who’s the alternate here to Biden?

Easy to chuck the guy, and I think he’s well past his usefulness, but who’s next man up?

Sure as shit ain’t Kamala. Nobody in his administration save maybe Pete has any visibility whatsoever. Saw an article tossing Governor Gavin Bateman out there which gave me a good laugh.

I dunno. Unless people want another geriatric in office and throw Bernie’s ass in there.

considering it's midway through 2022 already, they had better start positioning "who's next" in a hurry.

I can see the GOP fracturing a little between those backing orange fuckwit and those who think they can be even grosser, but Dems need to put SOMETHING on the table.
dunno if that's Mayor Pete or Beto or Booker, or ??? All might be a little green, but what else is there?
