Couldn't you say that most people who commit atrocious, violent crimes are mentally unhealthy or a psychopath?

It just seems to me to be a cover to distract and deflect from the biggest issue that refuses to be addressed which is the ease and availability to acquire guns in the United States. The worker who gets fired/laid off and then returns to shoot up his previous place of employment likely was doing fine just prior to this life changing event. If it's a lot more difficult to acquire a gun and that person has to settle for using a knife, the death toll is certainly lower.

In my opinion, there is also an acceptable culture in the US (and to be fair Canada as well) to settle conflicts/disputes etc. with violence. These conflicts tend to be a lot more deadly in the US due to the prevalence of guns.

this the same Hershel Walker who put a gun to his wife's temple and threatened to spatter her brains on the wall?
the same guy who hunted a man down in Dallas, for being late delivering a new car*
also also wrote about his own diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder, ergo should never have the option to be anywhere near a firearm

*“The logical side of me knew that what I was thinking of doing to this man — murdering him for messing up my schedule — wasn’t a viable alternative,” Walker wrote. “But another side of me was so angry that all I could think was how satisfying it would feel to step out of the car, pull out the gun, slip off the safety, and squeeze the trigger.”

That's the exact Catch 22 though. And I mean that much more closely to the novel's specific use rather than the common use of the term today.

Their argument is essentially that it's a mental health issue because only someone with mental health issues would do this sort of thing. But in some cases - including, according to data available so far, this one - the only way to find out that the person has a mental health issue is to wait for them to do this sort of thing.

So they throw up their hands, spout off about mental health and evil, and then dodge "gotcha questions" about what we're supposed to do when there were no or limited warning signs.

/thumbs up for the Letterkenny though.

Perhaps. And all people are asking for is figuring out a way to stop such a person from getting a tool that will allow him to annihilate a room full of 10 year olds in 2 minutes.

And passing it all off as a mental health issue while doing nothing to treat mental health issues is AT BEST disingenuous. At worst it's orchestrated cruelty.

Stumbled across this picture at lunch.

That is Finnish Prime minister Sanna Marin touring a bombed out city in Ukraine. Knowing the threats made against her own country by the person who is behind what she is seeing.

Finnish people are not known for being overly emotional and expressive. Her eyes say it all. Compassionate, human leadership.

So they medias asks about the 12 minute gap in when that guy crashed his car and before entering the school. Where were the police.
Well they were no more than 3 minutes away from the school normal speed per google maps.

And in looking at the maps I came across this. :L IF and ONLY IF a certain group cries this is caused by mental illness really cared. This person might have gone to the other location for the help he needed. But I guarantee getting access to that building is next to impossible vs buying a gun which.

Going back to what Rafael Cancun said in that video that was posted earlier about if America is such a bad place, why are there so many people coming to this country? The answer Ted is that the majority of them are fleeing situations that are even worse that what you have currently in the United States. It's not propaganda, it's just the reality that the accessibility of and ease of acquiring firearms is directly related to mass shootings. You and your ilk care so much about gun rights and in the next breath want to take away all rights of women to decide whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. It's just mind boggling to me that you can rationalize those two things in your head and think everything is fine.
