I'm about as desensitized to American episodes of gun insanity ever since someone slaughtered a room full of babies and nobody changed anything but the more I keep hearing about how literally every fucking "solution" that the right to bear Rambo guns people have come up with and implemented absolutely failed fucking miserably in this case I'm left wondering how not even some of them can't be thinking about maybe just trying some sort of regulation that would've stopped this at just 1 of the 80 apparent red lines that this kid crossed and should've been barred from owning firearms of any sort as a result (let alone something Zelenskyy would for to help defeat one of the world's largest invading armies).

This one is just so far past pathetic.

I’m not a gun expert, but if teachers are carrying guns, would it be a handgun - 9MM, etc?

How effective is that against someone with body armor? Sadly, I think the security guard in Buffalo found out. And he was a retired Police Officer with years of experience and training.

Woven into the fabric

Full of people who say they are in the greatest nation on earth, yet have never traveled far enough to have crossed a state line.
Well, if you see the way kids and parents treat teachers, I'm thinking the last thing you want is a teacher packing heat.
Teachers are typically very selfless, so that's not a big worry. Lack of training and decision making however...

This link's gonna get a workout here methinks

I didnt mean for that post to be a discussion point on teachers carrying guns … its an entirely stupid idea.

Just thought it was a good tweet highlighting the idiocy of fox news narratives and fox news viewers who buy that shit

/on that note … i havent read previous pages in this thread so my bad if a mattola but the shooter wasnt wearing body armor it turns out … yet because police thought he was they let him roam the schools halls for a full hour ??? :L

Yeah, it is un-godly insane. Law enforcement requires hours and hours of training a month and what they would expect a teacher, in their free time to do the same?

The whole good guy with a gun nonsense I always like using this little known story.

Retired ex-cop was armed and had the ability to sneak up on the armed robber and guess what...the good guy with the gun is dead and the suspect, if I remember correctly, is still on the run.

The second employee, a male, walked out from the back of the store and saw the interaction between the female and the suspect. The male employee attempted to pull his weapon when he was shot by the suspect. The victim died at the scene.

Its the appropriate level of lunacy for a country damn near half full of loons

And you just know the gop would expect teachers to buy their own guns lol

/maybe staples cant start selling guns so it can truly be the one stop shopping experience for all teachers buying supplies for their classrooms

Mrs 43's school has 35 teachers and administrators. 30 instructional aides and a further 20 or so special area or enrichment teachers.

They met today, and every last one is leaving the profession if it is even *suggested* they get training to carry a weapon or have a weapon in their classroom.

I had read that from the time the first policeman arrived and requested support to when the suspect was down was a half hour. Now hearing nearly an hour? And how fucked up is it that they thought he had armor and the only people in that entire area that had capability to deal with that was Border Patrol? which is the initial reason for delay I heard. They needed to get there from 30 miles away.

Even worse they would have to supply their own gun, bullets and pay for their own training.
Sadly can see it now. When the teacher sends home their "needs" list with the students at the beginning of the year bullets, paper targets and gift cards to the local shooting range.

Sorry, didn’t mean to come across like that. I also think armed teachers is a horrible idea.

I have my wife, daughter and my other daughters husband working in classrooms. Also a niece and nephew are teachers in Florida.

That was actually brought up by one of Mrs 43s teacher friends. They weren't sure what would be worse - having to pay for a killing device on their own or that being the ONLY school supply they DON'T have to pay for.

And you know the NRA would be happy to supply them. With Russian money.

Rafael Cancun isn't even smart enough to make big money on the dead kids.

Bargain bin buffoon.

I guess that explains why he was flying commercial to escape Texas when the power grid failed.
