To answer the question of why American Media can't do this to Trump:

They booted the AP for not calling it "Gulf of America". No one with a brain is going to get close enough to ask even one question let alone have them captive to eviscerate them like she did to that guy.

That’s another consistent jump in support. And that’s with a CDU that’s actually promising to start tackling some of the issues that have led to AfD’s rise.

Still won’t sniff power but another election or two where the issues that have drawn people to them don’t get resolved and they may begin to draw enough of the vote to no longer be possible to ignore.

One other item of note there, the far left did really well among young people and that wing is kinda splintered in Germany right now. If they consolidate and boomers die off could be a trend down the road.

AfD had a decent young person vote too. As do many conservative parties at the moment.

Can only really speak for Canada but when you’ve had a decade of Liberal government and you can’t even get a part time job at McDonald’s I can see why the youngs may be thinking a different way can’t be that bad.

Of course the time tested thing about young people is they generally don’t vote so that’ll only lift you so much. Boomers still generally like the Liberals and parties of that ilk in most places.

Well, my daughter and her fiance have managed to find pretty good jobs with two different engineering firms in Victoria. They also recently bought a place in Victoria and their wedding is set for this fall. This is not to say that things are all peaches and cream here in Canada, but it's also a case of two young people who have worked very hard and saved up enough money for a 20% down payment in one of the most expensive housing markets in Canada.

Talking more part time jobs to earn money in HS and college rather than career paths. Those kids are competing at job fairs with lines wrapped around blocks.

Yeah, that's not a good situation to find yourself in and I know there are young people facing these difficult obstacles through no fault of their own. Both of my daughters worked part-time jobs through high school prior to post-secondary education, but my wife and I also maxed out their RESPs in order for them to avoid having high student loans debts to pay back. Even with the RESP's, my youngest daughter did take out a small loan to cover her final year of studies. It's not easy for young people out there, I know.
