We all know that President does not understand the basic rules of punctuation and capitalization on par with your average middle schooler, but I wonder if putting "economic partnership" in quotes is a sign of unintentionally bad grammar or intentionally bad faith negotiation.

The inability to clearly and directly support a country that is fighting our #1 enemy both as a nation state and ideology over the past 80 years is maybe the most staggeringly stupid position I've seen any President take in my lifetime.

US joins Russia to vote against UN resolution condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine

As I posted in the This Day in Hockey History thread, it was 45 years ago on this day that the US hockey team won the gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics. Two days prior to that was the Miracle on Ice when they defeated the Soviet Union.

It was later that same year in 1980 that the US would boycott the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow due to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in December of 1979. Canada in solidarity with the States also boycotted those Olympics as it was a clear sign that the Soviet Union's incursion into a sovereign nation was in clear violation of international law.

Fast forward to today that marks the 3rd anniversary of Russia invading Ukraine and the US is firmly on the side of the invading nation. Whatever you might think of the importance of the United Nations in today's world, it seems to me that the transformation of America from a democracy to an oligarchy is now complete and that is something that I thought I would never see.
