I thought the cost was over $60,000, but Hyundai was covering all the costs for both car owners?
Really no different from any Lemon Law issues that have happened in the US. I guess since it is an EV they are under a larger microscope because of all the detractors.

I have to confess I didn't drill down on the story further, I just saw the headlines and thought it was pretty outrageous. What is undeniable are car insurance costs going up as even a minor fender bender with these EV's where the battery is lightly damages usually results in a total writeoff of the vehicle.

There was an episode of The League where a fast food place's bucket of beef meal was making people sick and they were sued. The defense (guest star Ray Liotta) argued that if you bought a $6 bucket of beef, the expectation was you were going to get sick. Therefore the case should be thrown out.

In her defense, and I'm not saying she's not an idiot, but the Daughters Of The Confederacy have spent 130 years and millions and millions trying to rewrite history pretending slavery was not a major issue of the Civil War at all.
