This is what happens when celebrity and media (social or traditional) attention become more important than merit, intellect, and capacity to do the job. The focus is on garnering attention and "winning" the competition, not on solving the problems of a society, compromise, and governance.

I’ll give Ford this much, he isn’t giving much to poke fun at about this and he seems to have the Premiers unified at least.

It’s an admittedly low bar but considering what’s going on in Ottawa it could be worse.

Speaking of Ottawa the consensus appears to be that the Liberals will have a new leader chosen by the second week of March.

There was talk that they might bow to pressure and scrap their stupid leadership race considering the mess they’ve made and just make a quick decision on who gets to lose to Pierre but they have maintained tradition and done the dumb thing instead.

So we’re essentially rudderless until May.
