I read a compelling discussion regarding how easy it would be to insert code into the machines somewhere in the supply chain and how it can be invisible until a certain point so any testing would show the machine works fine. It wouldn't have anything to do with the software, a firmware injection. It pointed to several well known cases where credit card data was manipulated. Other cases like VW cheat code for emissions testing and the supply chain attack regarding Hezbollah pagers were cited. Basically you can change one line of the results, and the fact that so many ballots seemed to favor Democrats down ticket, but Trump as President is curious enough to raise questions.

There is a relatively simple test. Hand count the ballots in any number of precincts, particularly those with the biggest swing one way or the other. If the counts match the system, no problem. If they don't, problem.

The discussion also mentioned the bomb threats and how they were only likely a mechanism to get people out of the building to destroy any defensible chain of custody so when/if it goes to court there will be considerable doubt cast on who "controlled" the paper ballots during evacuations. And you will remember that the threats came from Russia and were all heavily blue areas...
