You want to feel this way, but in the end the white majority (mainly Gen X'ers) in this country proved once again they are racist and misogynistic.

this is a stupid message from Jon Stewart.

"This isn't the end"

keep underestimating him Jon and it will be too late (if it is not already) ....

I don't think Jon does and that was part of his message. Just trying to put a positive spin on this mess, with the hope anything could be done. I am not too sure about that either.

Yet another group that flipped.

This group fell for the macho alpha male, Andrew Tate "no homo" persona very hard.

In the end it is another (I am sick of posting this song, but it hits hard with way too many demographics):

And the fact people took it for granted again like 2016.

There weren't more Republicans that showed up, less democrats came out.

NOTE: These numbers are not the end tally just an example of what happened.

That's fucking weird. Did 18 million LESS voters come out in this heated election. Those numbers can't be right.

Really 2016 all over again.

It is odd but there are a large group of voters who are democrats that either just don't vote or vote 3rd party. It never helps and only hurts this country.

Dems run weak, kumbaya campaigns. "they go low, we go"...bullshit. No meat or backbones to their campaigning. But maybe I didn't see that living in the PNW.

Needed to roll up the sleeves and should have started every townhall/meeting with, how can you justify voting for a felon, fraud, sex abuser. Now let me tell you what I will do...

It's a failure of the party as everything has been lost, congress, Presidency, Supreme Court, and probably the House.

Could more work have been done by the Dems to change the narrative? Maybe, but I think it boils down to two simple things:

1. Americans (middle class and lower for the most part) are blaming Biden (and Harris) for the current state of the economy and they made their feelings known last night
2. Race and misogyny is still a huge problem in America.

And their middle school understanding of economics means "stuff's expensive so economy is bad" with literally no understanding or curiosity as to why or how prices got high.

To be fair, it isn't the end.

It's just the beginning of the end. We have a long way to go.

It is not me that I am sad for. I have no kids so they wont know the impact. Ill be dead sooner rather than later so I wont suffer too deeply under the change that is coming.... and yes this does affect Canada. The Conservatives see how it was won and they will follow suit and win and we will be the same, but again that wont impact me. I am White with the strongest German last name one can have.... My wife is Chinese and is toughened towards racism, her family was one of the first to live in Calgary and they opened one of the first Chinese restaurants and the first mall restaurants in Calgary she can handle Racism....

The kids of today growing into this are going to feel it.

This essentially shows what happened in this country.

I see people blaming boomers (yeah I know anyone old is a boomer) but if you look at the numbers white GenX'er and older white millennials are the real concern.
View attachment 379559
Gen Xers complained for 20 years about Boomers pulling the rug out from under them and are now doing the same thing but this isn’t really just on them.

Millennials are shifting rightward everywhere and in the US it’s probably easy to forget that those kids came out of college to a broken economy and shit all for jobs. When they finally figured it out suddenly everything cost double what it used to and they couldn’t afford a family or a house.

I won’t even start on Zoomers. They’re so absolutely Fucked.

I’m also kinda tired of the “college educated” graphs. A lot of tradespeople, people in the service sector, government employees etc don’t have college degrees. Doesn’t make them stupid. And likewise, having a college degree in liberal arts or communications or whatever doesn’t make you smart.

friend of mine sent me a message (she lives in the states)

"Please pray for us, we really failed our children"

I replied

"Praying is what got you into this, relying on an invisible deity that by your own book values wrath over love is what got you into this, following a religion and using it to his advantage is what got you into this"

I delete it and actually sent

"I dont even have words. I am so sorry."

That was part of that age group in that graph. There is a lot of overlap with Gen X and older millennials where they sit in their careers and abilities to live a better life.

It isn't about who is smart or stupid. It is a demographic indicator only, really no different of a demographic grouping as religious affiliations.

The whole stupid part isn't about education level, but more the overall understanding of what is going on with the economics and government policy. College educated folks normally, as studies have shown, tend to understand those items more. Hence, why that stereotype exists.

Man, I am so fucking depressed today. The air just feels heavy.

In 2016, I can kind of see it. Even though most people knew he was a racist, ra.pist, terribly business person, the dog-whistles were loud but still not 100% blatant.

By now, people have seen exactly what he is. That is so very disappointing that it wasn't an utter blowout.

So the US deserves everything it going to get. It seems that decent people in that country is a minority. That is incredibly sad.

And it extends way beyond the border. Terrible people have received a very clear message that it is perfectly fine to be terrible people.

Just ugh...
