You don't say?
When you switch to a workforce made up almost entirely of immigrants who will work for slave wages what do you expect?
You don't say?
I'm starting to think he actually has hooves or something in those "shoes".
/Not sure if I'm kidding.
America is a terrifying place lol
I have tried to start a car with a bible instead of a battery. Very limited success.Yeah, why bring new initiatives (along with new jobs) to help people when you can just pray and hope for salvation

OK. There are hundreds of other depressed areas that would love the jobs. Move them there.Yeah, why bring new initiatives (along with new jobs) to help people when you can just pray and hope for salvation
Between the CHIPS act, Infrastructure bill, and the Made in America policy these should really make a big difference in some areas (battery plants) where nothing was available. Manufacturing was a big thing in America and is starting to return. This can be huge and be an major economic boom for areas. Not only do the plants have jobs that are created, they need additional goods and services to keep running. I don't remember the number, but for every manufacturing job created, more jobs are created as a by product to support the manufacturing.Yeah, why bring new initiatives (along with new jobs) to help people when you can just pray and hope for salvation

Greene is to dumb to realize that tax revenues and all those associated benefits that will be provided by this.
Counterpoint: These investments are all giant gambles, there's a very real chance that EV's and current battery tech doesn't grow much beyond current adoption as cost prohibits mass adoption and the only risk here is to the taxpayer.Between the CHIPS act, Infrastructure bill, and the Made in America policy these should really make a big difference in some areas (battery plants) where nothing was available. Unfortunately, this counterpoint can be said for <insert said industry>.Counterpoint: These investments are all giant gambles, there's a very real chance that EV's and current battery tech doesn't grow much beyond current adoption as cost prohibits mass adoption and the only risk here is to the taxpayer.
EV battery deals to cost $5.8B more than government projected: PBO report | Globalnews.ca
The report, released Friday, analyzes the costs to governments of recent deals struck to locate EV battery manufacturing facilities in Canada.globalnews.ca
The report also estimates a break-even timeline for governments of 11 years for the Northvolt production subsidy, 15 years for the Volkswagen subsidy and 23 years for the Stellantis subsidy.
You're betting on a quarter century of everything going perfect to recoup $45 billion and hoping that there's enough trickle down effect to the surrounding economies that it can accomplish this.
I see no difference between these "investments" and every single instance where governments have given tax breaks to automakers to set up shop/keep operations going in their jurisdictions. All it is is corporate welfare.
What a great system, we buy things from the companies we elect people to give money to!Unfortunately, this counterpoint can be said for <insert said industry>.
As far as I've seen, the Bible industry consists of various levels of gifting.Yeah, why bring new initiatives (along with new jobs) to help people when you can just pray and hope for salvation
